    Question Conducting yourself professionally
OK so I have been reading a particular thread where an affiliate is pointing out some leaks on the merchants site and the affiliate manager has been very rude, unprofessional and even chose to use profanity directed at the affiliate, in his responses.

I like to be unprofessional with my affiliates, but that doesn't include conducting myself in such a confrontational manor on a public board. I would rather goof off and be silly with them (and in the case of Billy Kay - flirt with ). But as an Affiliate Program Manager, I would think that being so confrontational to an affiliate on a public forum would not be an intelligent thing to do. Am I mistaken on this? The reason I ask, no one other than the particular affiliate replied to any of the AM's posts. I do think the AM also closed the thread after 10 or so posts were made....

Maybe it's just me, but that particular program seems to bring out the worst in affiliates.

It seemed like people were always complaining about tracking issues ... I was glad to see their forum because everytime I saw those comments it reminded me that I shouldn't sign up.

Rolet, I agree, the response was way over the top and totally unprofessional. Instead of addressing the posters concerns the AM resorted to a response of:

    Please take your business elsewhere.
And referred the poster to the company FAQ. I visited the FAQ, and I must have missed the portion that he was referring to that addressed the posters issues. There is no mention of Adsense at all, I I would be very surprised if the merchant did share that revenue. Also, I'm somewhat confused at how they are crediting the proper affiliate if they overwrite the referrers cookie with their own.

We tell you that we have hidden affiliate links and you get credit for all traffic going to health buy and market health.
    From the FAQ:

The Referral ID on my web site does not match my affiliate account. What do I do?

Clear your cookies. You currently have a cookie on your computer from another affiliate and this is why you are not seeing your referral ID. If you see 680256, this is an ID that is placed when you visit one of our sites with no affiliate ID.
And after explaining about a friends purchase that did not track was given this response:

I guarantee your friend is an idiot and did something wrong. Maybe had another cookie on his computer....who knows. But Bit'ching does nothing.
Wow, is he saying that most customers don't know how to purchase online. If you have to be a rocket scientist to insure that the appropriate affiliate gets credit for the sale, I'd say that was a serious shortcoming.

I tried to post in the original thread when I saw the AM's response only to find out that the thread was closed, that to me was the biggest insult. You can run but you can't hide.

I am not a member of this program, and at this point wouldn't even consider it after seeing the AM's responses to legitimate concerns. Maybe he should take a few pointers from Geno.

Haiko, good move closing the forum.

LOL that was a good giggle.

You're right Rolet - that is a despicable example of unprofessional conduct. By both parties.

Glad that merchant's forum is gone - nothing but complaints in it anyway.
    Peace,

Is this what it is meant by World Class Service ?

I'm am never endingly amazed by the fact we live in the united states of america and people are mean, rude, hang up on their customers or just plain ignore them. ~ Yet each "claims" to wanna make money.

It is sad that we have people in this world who do this stuff. I think this gives us all a black eye. ~ What's your opinion ?

    Steve,

There are many ways to make money, we alone decide how we do it - Ethically and properly is my choice!

So while I may not give "world class service", per se, I will not allow for the furtherance of that level of activity.

Oh, there was stuff written after the Flirting with Billy part? I didn't notice

This is a PUBLIC forum... and what you write is there for the world to see, and Goog to index... forever.

You always have to keep that in the back of your mind as you post.
