Dunham sports, Gijoes, fogdog, oshmans sporting goods, the sports authority....What do they all have in common?

They are all off-line today with exactly the same message apologizing. I've noticed before that they all offer the same products for the same price, so why the big charade? If its the same company, why have umpteen different affiliate programs?

Interesting. They all ping to the same IP block too.

You are right. So why the charade?

I know Dunham sports, oshmans, sporting goods and the sports authority all come under the globalsports.com banner, I am not sure about the others but it seems if the message is the same they must be with globalsports.com as well.
I would not waste your time space or money promoting them as their conversions are rubbish.

I believe the setup is like this:

GlobalSports went around to a bunch of bricks-and-mortar stores and made deals to set up these online stores for them. Dunham's, for instance, is a decent-sized local chain, even if they may not be national.

They are really using the same catalog, backend, etc., but each B&M store wants its own brand name out there, plus they are each supposed to get paid according to what is sold at "their store".

Hence the different names and separate accounting for each brand despite the fact that the place behind their online presence is really one company.

    As I recall.

Well, OK if that is what you want.

    ToughTurkey, you're naive!
