Everytime I try to enter www.parasiteware.com or the parasiteware boards on this forum I get an error in IE6 after which IE closes (it tells me there was an error and if it should send the data report)!

Any ideas why?

Thanks

I don't belive this; just did vyrus scan with the lates update, downloaded ad-aware (latest version) and did a scan (deleted a bounch of files) and rebooted. Still I can't enter neither parasiteware.com or any of the parasiteware forums here!!!

I haven't got problems entering any other website/board on ABW, but when I try parasiteware ... that message again! Have no idea what it could be!

Will DL the latest patch (think I got it but anyway), but why can I enter ALL ABW board except the ones under parasiteware and ALL websites except parasiteware.com?!

I could give you guys the error report IE generates if anyone knows what it all means (when it comes to hexes it's not my field .

Any other suggestions VERY welcome!

No, I can't!

Uploaded IE6 security update and nothing changed...

Did a little in-depth research:
- Opened www.parasiteware.com
- got the "IE has encountered a problem and must close" error
- went to temp internet files folder and copied the saved files
- opened the saved html file (index.html from www.parasiteware which has been stored) in my HTML editor, edited it part by part and tried if I could open it

SOLUTION:
The http://www.parasiteware.com/parasite.js is causing the problems! If I delete
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.parasiteware.com/parasite.js"></script>
from the HTML file I can open it. (Can't also open http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/ where the script is from)

This must mean one of two things:
- I have one of the parasite from the list in this JS file (although from the code I see I should get an alert, not a closed window!). Wonder why ad-aware didn't find them ...
- this javascript is not compatible with my system (Win98, IE6, all the updates awailable...).

Will try to dig a little further into this script to find out the problem ...

you are a kazaalite victim.Look into that hosts file which has no ending .sam and then go to:

http://www.smartin-designs.com

there is a very good definiotion what this file does. All ip-addresses pointing to ip 127.0.0.1 or 0.0.0.0 are not reachable through your PC. I had this too and I only deleted that hostfile without any difficulties afterwards.

Apreachiate your help, but still doesn't work (deleted the hosts file withouth the .sam extension and rebooted).

I'm pretty sure the real problem is the parasiteware.js file - if I delte the
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.parasiteware.com/parasite.js"></script>
code and save the html file I can open it, otherwise not.
