Question About Commission Junction University (CJU)
Commission Junction University (CJU) - Is it worth it to go? Will I really learn anything or is it just designed for networking? What do they teach at events like that? Thanks

In addition to that question, what kind of crowd do they draw as compared to Affiliate Summit?

It'll be a smaller crowd than Affiliate Summit, but there will be more CJ merchants (and no CPA Networks). You won't learn anywhere near as much from the sessions. The sessions (at any network-specific convention) are very watered down and "sanitized", compared to Affiliate Summit. Even at Affiliate Summit, it's hard to find good advanced sessions. The networking is great. The keynote speaker is usually good. But don't expect to learn too much from sessions. Networking is the big thing.

You probably won't learn much from the sessions. Some of the keynotes and speakers leave you wondering, what is CJ thinking? Somone from Ogilvy last year, a neverendingfriending presentation from MySpace, um I thought this was a performance based marketing conference.

That being said, regardles of some of the speaker choices, it is an awesome time, the people there are great, the food is better than any Internet conference I've been to in years, its in Santa Barbara which is a fantastic place to have a conference. If ya get the chance, definitely go, it is a great time!

If you do business with CJ, and hope to grow that business, than it is a "can't miss" event. I've been to the last 5 CJU's and I can say it's one of the best events of it's kind.

When I was a brand new wide-eyed affiliate manager, I learned a lot. It allowed me to hit the ground running, and I met several super affiliates there that made my program pop right out of the gate. I met a ton of really great people, had oodles of fun, and was able to impress my boss with the results. It's a small (and manageable) affair, with lots of one-on-one time. Nothing beats building relationships.

CJU is a classy event. A must event for anyone doing business within CJ. As the event and hotel sells out quickly, I have booked hotel already (tentative dates)
