Pets Warehouse coming soon to PopShops
    Hi all.

Just wanted to let you know that Bob from Pets Warehouse called today and told me he's working on a feed for his affiliates that use PopShops. This feed will comprise his 7000 best-selling products.

ETA is end of this month/middle of next month.

    Jessie

    Thumbs up
We've wanted this to happen for a long time, Jessie and I figured a way to do it.

It will work thru the Performics network.

A feed is only useful to me if it's tied to a network I work with. I won't work with Performics. Therefore, adding a Performics feed to PopShops doesn't get me any closer to including any PetsWarehouse products in my shops. (Coincidentally, I just registered a new pet-related domain this morning and spent the past hour working on some PopShops pages for it, until there was a hiccup at PopShops that made me decide to take a break.)

Our position will remain as strong as it has in the past in the regard to
    parasites.

We will maintain a "STRICK" policy in manually approving all Performics
affiliates and declining any utilizing Adware or Bho's.

I have had a strong position on parasites since 2003, nothing will change.

I am well aware of who they are!

So for us newbies, what's the problem with Performics?

Sorry if I am off topic here, but could you explain what the bolded section below means Bob? I have included the first part for contextual purposes.

From Your Terms Posted in Shareasale:
An affiliate agrees not to purchase or bid for (PPC)* placement of any of Pets Warehouse licensed trademarks or company names. These names include: (Pets Warehouse PetsWarehouse and any permeation or misspellings of the trademarked name. This includes their use in Meta Tags or other HTML language.
It appears that you are opening on PFX to allow Pop Shops to do something you don't allow. Your terms disallow affiliates to use Pets Warehouse in their HTML and also in head tags.

I haven't read (in detail) that part in a long time, but those same terms were copied over to Pfx.

The basis was to prevent keyword stuffing in the Title and other meta tags, the Html in the page below the head.

    That make sense?

    Thanks Bob.
So a site that has "Pets-Warehouse.com, Pets Warehouse" or similar terms in their title tag is non-compliant?

Yes, since Pets Warehouse is a registered TM.

However, under certain circumstances it (the page) can be submitted for approval.

Please Pm or call me if you care to discuss.

    Bob,

Just to confirm ... I was very happy with the idea of using products from your feed when I thought it was from SAS. Perf ... I'm really not so happy about using them. They don't exactly have a good reputation around here.

Not really, not from people who actually use the network. From what I gather from past threads and recent ones - http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread...462#post793462

bumpaw's post and what Bob said: "But when you get to comparing the tools in Pfx that will work with our data base which will not work in SAS there is difference, a big one."

the bigger feeds seem to be handled better at Performics. The problem people have with Performics and some other bigger networks like LS or CJ was the parasites but if the merchant keeps them out, as Bob said he would, it's not an issue. And if you work with them at SAS, you still can.

I'm just never totally happy with a merchant being on 2 networks. I actually do have a few performics merchants on my site but really prefer to stick with SAS. And Ót seems to be a special popshops feed ... so how the network deals with feeds doesn't matter in this case.

Bob - Perhaps you can tell us why you chose Performics over the other networks.

That would be a topic for another thread. Since this section is the PopShops forum. And I actually think he addressed this in the Performics announcement thread.

That doesn't mean that they pay affiliates in a timely manner. With SAS, I know when my payment will be sent, within a day or two. With PFX, I never know when my payment will show up, if at all. I've had to harrass PFX more than any other network to get my payments. And when I do get paid, I have no way in the interface to go back and actually see what payments I received and when. The PFX affiliate interface is severely lacking, IMO, and therefore I prefer to deal with SAS.

I'll look into that issue. Didn't they change the interface a few weeks ago?

My payments were always 3 to 4 months behind.

You know - Getting paid for August in November or December.

I finally just gave up and removed their merchants from my sites.
