Edited because all my pages are back in that were lost, so i don't know if you want to call this an update yet, but maybe the last crawl has just been added.

Something is up, Google-wise, either something is starting, hate to say that, or they deepcrawled my site and the new pages and results are showing, but i'm getting traffic for terms i never got traffic from before. I"m putting those terms into google-dance.com and sometimes #1 in half of the datacenters and sometimes not there at all. Also checking yahoo backlinks there and sometimes getting your search returned no documents, which last time was a sign. At WMW a few people mentioned while searching that no results showed up just the adwords. I have a feeling Of course i could be completely wrong, wouldn't be the first time

Yeah i get excited A mod from WMW just emailed me and said they see the same thing, that its been jumping in and out but they won't post anything saying so. It still might jump but right now i'm seeing a nice traffic spike and all my pages are back in. When everything is over i think most will be happy with Google, a lot of worry over nothing.
It doesn't look like what we would normally call an update: SERPS changing along with the backlinks but looks like they added the recent crawl, which is good

Basically a mod told me they see the same thing, but thats it bouncing around the datacenters and they don't want any long threads about it. They want to wait until its settled. You figure a forum with 4 Google boards would let this info out, but no. But from what i've seen my new pages(recent crawl) aren't bouncing at all, they've been in the main since my first post. And there will be some happy merchants in this forum this month

Sorry about all the posts, just reread them, seems i get a little too excited

My lost sites are still not back.

Getting more and more MSN traffic though. Two sites that were dropped by Google are now in MSN and getting good traffic. At this rate I will not have to worry about big G and its madness.

    How?
The rumour has been that freshbot is now the deep crawler too. What difference can you spot that makes you sure your recent additions were the latest crawl data and not freshbot? Is there now a difference?

Perfect G that is a possibility. I just know this. Yesterday afternoon i noticed a spike in traffic. My pages went back to the # they were in April before the May update(if you want to call it that) I had about 400 new pages that were added in March or April that were in the index for the whole month, then disappeared for all of May and the first part of June. So yesterday i picked up about 400 pages. I also noticed my inner pages that never get the freshbot were updated too, showing stuff i just added within the week. Either a crawl was added or it could be the new freshdeepbot. Not sure, but whatever happened is very very good. And if you had pages or sites in in the March or April index that all of a sudden disappeared in May when Google started showing the old index, like a lot of us, this is a good sign they have or will be coming back.

Yes I notice some changes too, but what for sure is most pages that got back aren't in 'fresh mode'

I hope mine come back. I have 1000s of pages and three whole sites that disappeared in the May update that were added March/April time. No sign of any of these yet (except in MSN) which is supplying 90% of my traffic to 2 of my sites (Googgle is supplying ZERO traffic to them).

I'm glad they are. The forum loses its worth with too many "me too" posts - the Update thread is 3 1/2 hours old and already has 154 messages! It was a full time job trying to keep up with Dominic, I hope Esmerelda is easier.

    Doesn't matter.

"News and discussion for the advanced web professional"

I consider what i tried to post news, it also would have helped ease some of the fears over there. This info was posted on lots of other webmaster forums. I know its a PITA modding over there, but thats a volunteer position. I see others have posted over there too about the mods being a little to tight. This was "Google News" and people should be allowed to post and discuss whats happening. No biggie there are lots of other forums with up to date Google info and this is a nice dance

Wow! It looks to me as though using all caps in the title tag results in a big boost in rankings.

Also, over there you have to register or log in to read about the update. Go to main page and you click and read all topics except Google June 2003 : Update Esmeralda , when you click that it asks you to register or log in, but only that topic. Also going to Google News you wont see the topic(only topic you can't see) unless you register or log in. Good way to get people to register

My pages are back. However, I think I am still suffering some type of penalty from Fairy Page and his bunch. I type in two of my sites domain names and there is no data. However, when I search for the pages, plus the newer ones I added, they all appear.

Chuck, that is nothing to worry about, that is happening with all sites, typing yoursite.com will get: Sorry, no information is available for the URL yoursite.com

It used to bring back info, but they changed it up. Try it with other sites and you'll see what i mean. As long as your pages are in, you're in good shape.

Rather than typing in "yoursite.com," type in "www.yoursite.com"

    It's a long story.

    What I've noticed:

Sites dropped from the last index may well be back.

PR0 penalties for expired domains seem to have been re-asserted.

My personal yardstick of spam, Viagra, looks a little better but still spammy.[/list]

Results look a little better than the last index (which isn't difficult).

However, if we could keep the comments to one thread - this one - that might be useful!
