    Recurring Revenue Programs
I've been thinking about running some recurring revenue programs that don't pay big money upfront, but pays out each month the consumer stays with the service. For example, the consumer pays $10/month for the service, and I get $1.50/month. Assuming that almost everyone stays with the service (I'm looking into programs where very few people actually cancel the service because the service is so valuable to the consumer), there should be a big potential to make money over time. Right?

    What are everyone's thoughts?

    Welcome ryanp:

    BDS offers residual income.
We have been here at ABW for 5 years.

There are other programs such as telecommunication where you are paid a percentage of a customers phone bill each month.

Is the BDS smokes program doing well? I'm concerned that I won't cover my upfront marketing costs with the 3% commission share. However, I can see how over time I would make the money to cover my costs (and then some!).

How long do you think it will take (on average) to cover the marketing costs to acquire the customer (I realize each marketer has different costs)?

    >>>marketing costs

    SEO is cheap
PPC is not an option for BDS affiliates. The engines have their rules.

Got it. Is the program working for a lot of affiliates? Or, would some of the other BDS programs make me more money?

Affiliates don't get rich with BDS but enjoy the residual income.

Please consider that in 5 years BDS has never processed a commission chargeback.

I meant, cigar programs, as opposed to BDS programs. I wanted to know if you have found that your program works better as a residual program, as opposed to cigar programs that pay one upfront amount, and no recurring revenue.

BDS affiliates own their customer for life.

We have one affiliates [the Safeway guy & former ABW member] who let his site expire but still earns commissions.
