List of Affiliate Scripts that Allow Direct Linking
Yesterday, a friend asked me what affiliate "script" he should buy so his merchant-client can operate an "in-house" affiliate program, with the goal of having "direct linking" (so that inbound affiliate links can hopefully be counted by Google, etc.). I instantly realized that my knowledge about "affiliate software" is very dated -- it's been more than 6 years since I seriously evaluated any available script or software to implement an affiliate program on a merchant site.

I spent some time yesterday and today culling through various sites (including ABestWeb and Affiliate-Software-Review), and compiling a list of "affiliate software" that appears to allow direct linking. I also recognize that several "affiliate networks" allow direct linking.

Many folks have complained in the past that it's inappropriate to post "lists" on ABW, especially when the list is quite likely to be incomplete and may contain errors; since ABW posts are archived for years, mistakes are hard to "correct." Therefore, I've posted my "working list" on my own web site at http://markwelch.com/affiliate-scripts.php -- which I will update as I get responses by email or on this discussion thread.

After I get feedback and incorporate it into my list, then if the moderators say it's okay, I could then post the list back into this thread, or perhaps into a thread in the "becoming a merchant" forum.

I'd appreciate any feedback about any "missing" products or merchants, as well as any products or merchants I've listed whose products don't allow direct linking. Please note that right now, I'm just "making a list" -- I am not (yet) seeking feedback about the quality of any of these solutions, nor am I seeking advice on the wisdom of attempting to earn PageRank from affiliate links (those are probably better subjects for separate threads).

Thanks in advance, for any feedback.

There's already a resource that does that at more, and is kept up to date:

    http://www.affiliate-software-review.com/

You have to register to access their reviews (which is the only thing I don't like about it), but it has good information.

Michael -- I did look at that site as part of my research, but although the A-S-R site seems pretty current, it is definitely not "complete." That's why I'm focusing on growing my list.

I wish there was one that was just listed as ~ http://www.StevesUrl.com/ without the merchants info on it.

It'd be great if tour tool cloaked that info all together.

Mark: Thanks for the great info !

I don't think there will ever be a complete list, but we can try get closer.

What's not complete on ASR? - the 75 vendors listed or the 212 features per listing?

If it's more vendors needed let me know some that you think should be added AND are reputable... and I'll hunt them down.

If it's features send me a few common ones that are missing and we'll see what we can do to expand the categories.
