Just woke up and found out the news this am, it's 8:20 here, we didn't feel anything in the hotel and no news from the hotel either. Looking out the window from the 57 floor, all seems normal on the strip.

We are ok here, reporting live from the 57 floor at the Wynn

It was supposedly felt here, but not be me. Oh well--no excitement for me today.

Buildings in Wells fell down, but no injuries. Water main breaks and all that good stuff.

Wow - glad to know everyone is OK.

We might all get to experience a few aftershocks at Summit. They're fun.
    Peace,

This was all over the Salt Lake news this morning. Apparently a lot of people in the SL valley felt it from 150+ miles away. I didn't feel anything, and I'm about 50 miles east of SLC.

It would have been real bad if you felt the earthquake 400 miles away from its epicenter. That would have been one great disaster.

There are no real serious injuries per http://www.foxreno.com/weather/15365211/detail.html

Another reminder why it's important to not only backup all computer data daily, but to keep offsite backups as well. Here in SoCal that's just another day in paradise.

Also, whether your area is prone to earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, or any other disaster natural or unnatural, it's a good idea to keep a couple weeks' supply of food and water on hand.
