    Great, first framed, now scraped..
I recently posted about a site that "framed" mine within an ad-filled page (their ads, not mine obviously).

And now, while scanning my site domain name in google, I come across THIS: a natural search result with a title & scraped text from one of MY pages, pointing directly to an affiliate link!

Luckily, I caught the merchant/affiliate id during the redirect, and have reported this violation to the network.

But really.. while I'm flattered my content is obviously worth something, how on earth can THIS type of affiliate be accepted into any kind of program? It's just ridiculous.

A few ways I can think of offhand:

    1) They showed the network/merchant a different site
    2) The merchant doesn't realize they scraped
    3) Nobody looked, even after sales started happening
    4) They don't check where transactions are coming from
    5) They know the person has a direct link from Google, but don't know how the person did it

Did you also report it to the AM of the program and report the bad search result to G's search quality team?

    Eww...scuzzballs!

Both of these happened to me before. DH added some code to break frames to solve problem one, problem two was even easier. They scraped our site and weren't smart enough to change the affiliate codes. So I was making commission in France without doing anything. LOL!

Oh.. commissions from France, that's excellent! Poetic justice, indeed...

I'm going to report to the AM & google too, good call.. I thought I was being proactive contacting the network, but that's only one avenue...

I've been spending every free moment building my sites, and it's finally paying off (has just become a real business now!). To have to police THIS now.. well it just kinda sucks.

    Thanks for letting me vent..

I would like to add another way this happened, The affiliate manager is also the scraper site owner.

    Ouch.. that would really suck.

I reported the site to google, will leave it at that.

Just a heads up to others - you should periodically perform a search on your full domain name, you may be surprised at what you find!
