I've been messing around with some Photoshop psd template files the last few days and came up some really nice sites. Does anyone know how good these image mapped sites get crawled and indexed by the search engines?

Image map navigation tends to make search engine spiders stub their toes. While it may look good and be useful to the user it is also wise to have an additional set of nav links somewhere else on the page.
I frequently put more "traditional" navigation links in my site footer That way I am sure any spiders can find the other site sections.

Thanks Bill..that's what I kind of suspected. Hadn't thought about the traditional navigation in the footer. I'll putz around with that and see what happens.
BTW..I'm still seriously working on that other project.
Hope you guys are having fun and learning lots in Vegas.

Designing in photoshop can work well, though. Using images for navigation is fine, as they are regular links, just not image maps. Try slicing up your photoshop design into image slices and coding from there.Jason Rosenbaum
