    Adwords - Commissions
    Hi-
I am new to this forum and am an ebay affiliate.

I was told by CJ to advertise with Google adwords, Yahoo, and MSN - then I saw this on the ebay affiliate page under Trems and Conditionss:

"Search Engines. You will not be compensated for paid search traffic purchased from Google.com, Yahoo.com, MSN.com, nor from any of their content networks, such as Google AdSense, Yahoo! Publisher Network, and MSN ContentAds, if it is linked directly to the eBay.com, eBay Express, or eBay Store domains (not "Commission Earning Activity"). The change in policy is limited to the eBay.com US program, and to the three search engines stated above. Linking to a non eBay domain is allowed."

Is this new or has it always been that way.........just trying to make more sales as an affiliate. Confused!!

Would someone like to clarify this for me??

    Thanks........Mike

Those are eBay's terms. No direct linking to eBay is allowed. You MUST go through some type of landing page.

You can't send folks directly to ebay upon clicking on the Google ad. The Google Ad must take people to your site, and then they can click on a link taking them to ebay. It has been this way for a while. It is OK to use Adwords, provided you have your own landing page.

I guess it is because eBay is bidding on many terms themselves - so to avoid unneeded competition you have to send traffic to your own pages.

And eBay AU starts 4/1, unless it's an April Fools Joke.

If you could only deal with a few good paying, honest, dependable, nice-to deal-with advertisers, whom would you choose?

Newbie question: does this policy also apply to CJ regarding the use of content network?
