I used to fair very well in google's index. As of late I noticed a huge amount of traffic from MSN but my Google traffic has plummeted. I haven't done any substantial changes to my site. Has their criteria changed?? If so does anyone have any tips on strong Google Placement?

Are you advertising there? I notice if you advertise your listing disappears if it naturally occurs for the keyword you are bidding on. The good thing is it returns after you stop paying for the word, ha ha!

Anne, Interesting observation. Total rubbish, though.

Adwords has nothing to do with your natural SE placement. I bid on keywords where i get nice natural listings with no affect whatsoever.

I suspect that even google itself doesn't really know.

quote:
I haven't done any substantial changes to my site.

This might not be totally true BUT I think that I fair better whenever I reload my pages. This changes the date stamp which, in turn, is one way that google updates and includes their listings. One might think this to be a total waste of time to upload a page that has no updates BUT I came to my "date" realization over a few years. Every time I reload a page and google schmoogles my site, it draws more traffic. You do the math . . .
