    New Bike
So I'm really stoked about spring and bought a pimped out and loaded '08 Cannondale Bad Boy Ultra

But I've got a really bad cold and even though it's nice outside all I've been able to do is put on the helmet ...

    Bummer!

But .... mark my words, this is stage III of the Haikster fitness revolution ...

PS. Don't I look like one of those bike cops? LOL

So I am hoping you got Michelle a pimped out bike too? It is more fun to ride with someone. Did you get a bell on it so you can warn people to get the hell out of your way cause you are on a mission?

Get well soon, Haiko! You need to put some miles on your new ride!
-Don't criticize anyone til you've walked a mile in their shoes. Then when you do criticize them, you'll be a mile away and have their shoes.

A bell? Nothing says "I'm on a mission" better than an obnoxious air horn.

    You've got it Bob!

TY Gary, I'm trying to figure out the best method for mounting my LAX gear and using the bike to get to the field on Sats instead of driving.

Connie - Michelle isn't a cycler, I offered, but she said nah. Oh, yeah I've got a bell and a 180 lumen light, and my big mouth, people will know I'm coming

That seat is fat (literally too.) Is that stock or did you add it? If so, where can I get one? Looks comfy.

That helmet looks like it breathes well too. Mind if I ask the make of it?

Haiko, I was watching the Mets game yesterday and there was a guy in the audience who could pass as your brother. I knew it wasn't you because:

    1. you'd never go to a Mets home game (would you?)
    2. you dress better than this guy did
    3. you wouldn't have been eating junk food like this guy was

Anyway, congrats on the bike. It looks sleek! (You should get an air horn just in case.)

I switched out the existing tic tac sized seat to this extra padded saddle, ain't no way I'm ridding on one of those skimpy racing seats!

It's a Giro Pneumo - remember it's protecting your head -- so safety first, cost second.

TY, I really am excited about it - been averaging 14 MPH in the gym, so let's see how I do in the real world. I haven't seen too many air horns that actually last long, the incredibell is pretty loud, I'll test it out soon I hope.

I have a hybrid bike. It's in the shed. Hubby has deemed our neighborhood too dangerous to ride around. (Hilly, blind curves, bears, moose.) Bummer.

I used to be able to do five miles in 12 minutes on my exercise bike but I'm so out of shape now I'm happy to do five miles in 20 minutes. Just >puff< gotta >huff< keep >gasp< working on it. >wheeze<

I knew that face looks familiar!

Just put on some dark aviator sunglasses, and I bet that when you are riding behind a car, that driver would get nervous looking at you thru his rear-view mirror.

Looks like fun. Your earlier post almost inspired me to get mine out of the garage tonight, but I ended up going to the auto parts store instead. Let's hope the good weather is here to stay.

I am always amazed at how as kids we lived on our bikes and nobody had helmets. We traveled in traffic and always on hard pavement, yet I don't remember anybody getting hurt. Loose dogs were the biggest hazard.
