With one of my sites I noticed a dramatic loss of SE rankings. When I investigated I could not find any difference to the website befor I edited it. The I did a side search for keywords, and I noticed that I could not find the keyword terms in my title tag. The reason was, that I had hit space bar twice so that there were two spaces between words. Could this be the matter for that bad rankings?

No, I did not mean that. It was in the Title tag like that: blue grass and blue (two spaces) grass.

I don't think there should be any problem to SE rankings because of the spacebars, something else must be wrong with your SEO.
