New Phishing email - They Say They're Google
I know virtually none of you would ever fall for this, but just a heads up. Watch out for phony emails that look like they're from Google AdWords:
    Dear Google AdWords Customer,

Please sign in to your account at http: // adwords dot google dot com/select/login, and update your billing information. Your account will be reactivated as soon as you update your payment information. Your ads will show immediately if you decide to pay for clicks via credit or debit card. If you decide to pay by direct debit, we may need to receive your signed debit authorization before your ads start running, depending on your location. If you choose bank transfer, your ads will show as soon as we receive your
    first payment.

We look forward to providing you with the most effective advertising available.

Just saw that today and clicked the link to see where it took me. It was very convincing, so be extra careful. The domain was a .cn with a fake .com in the subdomain.

It's amazing how many people often fall for these scams. I always tell my - not so internet saavy - family members never to click on links in emails - but to go to the website directly.

    Described briefly here:

I've seen this technique in action - what happens is the bad guys compromise your AdWords account to create legitimate looking ads that lead to malware infested sites. Heck, checking back it's nearly a year ago that this first started happening.
