    Cookie Prioirity Question
    Hi Gurus,

I have a question, that I will try to explain with some examples
    1) M = Merchant had a particular promotion with 30 day cookie.
    2) A1 = Affiliate Site for M, has a link on the site for M with A1's affiliate id
    3) A2 = Affiliate Site for M, has the same link for M, with A2's affiliate id

    Questions -
    1) Surfer goes to A1 clicks the link, that sets A1's cookie, but does not buy anything. Then goes to A2 does not buy anything. Goes to the merchant site directly and makes a purchase after a week. Who gets the commission?

    2) In the above example, if the surfer makes a purchase on A2 clicking thru A2's link, after visiting A1 and having A1's cookie set, who gets the commission? Will A1 get a commission because A1 has a cookie, or A2 will get a commission because A2's link clicked resulted in the purchase?

I am asking this question from the perspective of rewards/points sites. If A2 is a rewards site, how does A2 ensure they get credit for the purchase and not A1?

Do all the major networks - CJ/Linkshare/ConnectCommerce/SaS, etc. have the same behavior?

    Thanks!

Too confusing to answer your question directly (I'm hungry and all those A's and M's don't make sense right now) but providing that things are normal, there are no parasites, etc, etc the last referrals cookie gets the commission, certain merchants have exceptions, but that's how it generally works.

A2 - (if a link was clicked) Last cookie will get the sale during the return days allowed by the merchant

    A2 - A2 cookie will overwrite A1 cookie

This is true for most networks and merchants.
