Question [CONTEST] $300+ Collectibles Sale. Guess the Marketing Method!
Regardless of the seeming seasonability of collectible products sold by FunToCollect, sales like this one do get referred by our affiliates outside the holiday season:

QUESTION: Can you guess the promotion method (used by this affiliate marketer) that lead to the above sale?

PRIZE: My newest book [autographed, of course]*

    Looking forward to your guesses.

    Geno

*If you already have the book -- your prize will be $20 GenoBucks in your PayPal account.

Amazing guess, but no, this was not it. It was an online sale.

If I tried the method I'm thinking about I'd bring my laptop to the party and anyone who wanted to buy could buy from my link, so it would be online.

I wonder if that would work ...

A niche sale through natural search results, so very good SEO was required. Does that make sense?

I'd guess it's a content rich site that focuses on the subject matter rather than the object, IOW it's a site, for example, that focuses on people who fish, rather than people who buy fishing collectibles. The site owner has brilliantly tied product placement in with their content.

Either that or it's a subject matter focused forum that uses strategic product placement to drive sales.

It definitely would. And yes, that would also be an online sale.

It does, and you're on the right track. I want to hear one more word.

Wow, I have so much to do today and you are taxing my brain Geno.

Okay - A niche sale through natural search results, so very good SEO was required on their LANDING PAGE.

Yes, I'm grasping at straws now.

    All great guesses.

What I would like to hear is what type of website do you think it was that was optimized well to get a sale like this?

Ummm -- what type? I'm not sure I grok what you mean by "type." Do you mean what niche? (Use small words, I have a sinus headache today.)

Rexanne is on the same wave with me re the "type", but no, it was not a datafeed-based site.

Not sure if it's consider the same as a datafeed site but how about a
    Dynamic Template site.

    No.

I am doing this not because I do not know what to do with my 20 bucks at the start of the weekend. I want stress an opportunity [for affiliates]. And what better way is there to learn how to hang a chandelier than to hang one yourself?

It was a content site, but a particular type of a content site. And I want someone to guess what type it was.
