Exclamation Google Display URL POLICY CHANGE**
    He Ya,

Wondering if any of you have been affected by the Google display URL policy that went into affect April 1st - I am interested in hearing from any direct linkers working with sub id tracking networks such as azoogle...Have you been affected?

Not at all. I have a few dozen direct to merchant campaigns running and to test it all I launched some new ones after the 1st and they are working fine.

Have they implemented the change yet? If not, perhaps by the end of the month. If yes, then what is the change if no one has been affected?

They implemented it on April 1. There was no change, no new rules, just them saying they're finally going to enforce the rules already in place.

I think Google will be reluctant to make any major changes if their share price continues to tumble.

You need to keep the shareholders happy with a steady flow of cash.

We've definitely had reports of affiliates getting their ad rates jacked up. Has anyone encounted issues with the new policy enforcement?

The new enforcement should not affect your ad quality or serving as long as the display URL matches the destination URL. If you are using some sort of tracking program which alters your destination URL, it's ok as long as you land on the relevant site.

No issues, just another scare tactic.

Absolutely yes. I have had ads rejected for direct linking using Azoogle destination URLs even with the ultimate destination URL listed as the display URL. This has only affected my AZ ads.

I had the same thing happen, the display URL was correct, they kept rejecting. I e-mailed them and they replied that it was their mistake and approved the ad.

I've tried to detail this problem in repeated conversations with Google reps in hopes of having them "un-flag" the offending AZ URL. As it stands now, each time I launch a campaign for AZ, the ad gets rejected, and I have to call up to get it fixed.
