Red face Affiliate Traffic Not Converting
I have managed websites for a few yrs successfully & am now trying to get started w/ the affiliate marketing bus model.

I've got a few difft things going so far which include dating, foreclosures, & auto repo sales. I'm driving traffic there w/ adwords ppc (mostly coming from their content network) and most users are clicking on the affiliate links. One thing though - the affiliate links are not bringing in any $$$ - that is, none of the clicks are converting to sales or leads on the affiliates sites ?? btw, I'm using commission junction programs.

    Pls Help!!!!!!

The content network is the problem. If you don't know how to properly manage it, you will lose money on it.

Some of your niches will convert well on the content network, but you'd be better off with more targeted "keywords" or site-targeting.

For just starting out, you picked some of the more competitive niches out there. Also how many clicks are you talking about? 10's, 100's, 1000's ?

    Thumbs up
thx for the advice Josh! I'm going to turn off the adwords content function, & will thus have to raise my ppc bids to get any action w/ pure search terms. Is this a viable bus. model??

I've done a lot of reading on the topic and it seems like it's been done before (affiliate marketing w/ ppc ads to your own site) & have plenty of prior experience advertising w/ ppc. just have been growing a bit frustrated not seeing any signs of life (nothing converting)

It's a viable way of draining your wallet, maybe when you get some more experience under your belt. Those search keywords are going to cost you some money. Very competitive markets you're getting into. Usually with PPC, I think people should start off slow, learn it, play around with some less competitive markets, low bids etc. Jumping right into is is another way I guess.

yeah, I've also got pet supplies, e-fax, payday loans, mazazines, printing, recycled printer ink going as well but have not been bidding high enough to get traffic. I'll try raising those bids on the search network, see what happens & add some more markets, then test & restest. just trying to see some sign of life w/o having to empty my wallet on $1 clicks
