I'm just going over my July stats. I'm just curious as to which Third Party Networks performed the best for you. Mine are below, based on money earned and nothing else.

    1) Shareasale
    2) Adsense
    3) Websponsors
    4) CJ (Once reversals hit 4 will probably be Performics)
    5) Performics
    6), 7, 8, 9, 10) Indy's
    11) DirectResponse
    12) Linkshare (Pitiful)
    13) Reporting.net (even more pitiful)
    14) the rest small amnts from indy programs
    15) Vallueclick (non-existant )

CJ is probably about 70% of my links, followed by Linkshare and Performics. Just curious as to how things look for others. Note - this isn't meant to prove anything because some merchants have better listings than others from the different networks. Just curious

1- CJ (best month, 3rd in a row)
2- Indy merchants (2 of them)
    3- AdSense (Wow!)
4- LinkShare (probably has the most links)
    5- BeFree (on the rise)
6- Performics (down from usual 3rd place)
7- Amazon (always replacing their links for better paying merchants)
    8- Others

OK here's mine - not sure what it all means, probably nothing !

    1) Quinstreet (always #1 for me)
    2) VipProfits
    3) Independent sports betting site
    4) CJ
    5) Search4Clicks
    6) Performics (really poor month here)
    7) ShareASale
    8) Ulla Popken (would have been Linkshare, but I only made sales with UllaPopken last month !)

Made nothing at all at BEFree nor UKAffiliates - had a shocking month overall. If it hadn't been for lots of action on the British Open, it would have been my worst month for a year.

    Hey Joe,

I did sign up for AF but, I was disappointed because, it's like a miniature WebSponsors, no unique offers and features. Only harder to use.

    Hope you don't misunderstand.

    SamBay,

A lot of people login, look only at the rates, and wonder why our GoToMyPC leads pay only $1.40 when CJ's pays $10. I could see how many of our offers look the same as other networks', but almost every one of our offers is very different from it's competing counterpart.

    Check it out...

Our GoToMyPC promotion requires name, email and password - no download, no registration, no credit card. It's not available like this anywhere else and the proof is in the pudding.

Our Gevalia promotion pays for gross sales, not net. It seems the same on other networks and yet this seemingly same offer converts better through Affiliate Fuel. Hear anything interesting yet?

Our Eversave pays more than other venues and, unlike others, has no deterring co-reg's on the registration form. Conversions - way higher!

Cool Savings is also available elsewhere...but $.20 to $.30 less. That's over 25% more commission through AF.

None of our Grolier/Scholastic offers require a credit card to earn commission and we have over 6 available.

You won't see pop-ups on our offers. You won't hear about unexplained reversals. All of these things are factors that the best affiliate marketers take into consideration but just don't know about our network.

I highly suggest you try us again. Harder to use? Email me your number and a time to call and I would be happy to walk you through anything you might need help with. Our support is unbeatable.

    Begin -

    SamBay:
I have to support Joey on the quality of his network. In a short time, they have become a top producer for us. Actually, it's to the point where I create content around their offers because they just convert that well. I have no experience with WebSponsors, but I can tell you that Affiliate Fuel has made a lot of other affiliate programs afterthoughts.

[EDITED to add - and Joey is not bragging about their support. It is, without question, unbeatable]

    End -

p.s. Joey, send my AF shirt to my office; a Large or XL should do it.

I'll have to agree with Karl, I'm only running the gotomypc promotion right now, and it is doing GREAT, even compared to the one from CJ. I will be adding more from affiliate fuel as soon as I get caught up with what I'm currently behind on, hehe.

Uh, here's a clue. If you want to earn from a network, you must first join the programs and put up the pages.

I have hundreds of merchants that I joined at CJ. But, I have only had time to use a few merchants at Shareasale. However, those merchants from Shareasale are beating the panties off CJ merchants relative to the number of items I have offered and how long the pages have been up.

For me, most CJ merchants were big fat duds and a total waste of my time.

Those of you using the bigger networks, you can't compare hundreds of merchants earnings from them against five or six from the smaller networks. That just doesn't tell the whole story.

Actually, almost all of my money comes from about 10 merchants in each network. You can compare the smaller networks to the larger ones if you only make money from a similar number in each network

In your case, no doubt, that is true.

So, tell me, what are you selling and how can I make money doing the same thing?

SSanf and CJShoppingNetwork make great points.

Probably the best measuring tool would be to list which network, on average, maintains the highest eCPC for you across the board. Otherwise, you're really only measuring the number of merchants you promote through each network or the amount of exposure you give them.

If you want to know who performs the best, you have to break it down to the performance of their programs after the click (and note if their ads often generate a poor CTR). Sure, CJ may produce more because of the number of ads you run through them, but if another network constantly makes offers available that perform better on the back end, that's more important to note. Otherwise, you could be promoting 50 poor sponsors through one network and 2 good ones through another, and be implying better performance about the first by ranking them #1 in your list.

I actually promote a lot of products and services. However, I only make money with a small number of merchants (small compared to how many I promote)

What is considered to be average earnings in the affiliate world? How many people never make any money?

I am very reluctant to divulge who my main earners are as I know that there are a lot of people lurking on here who never post, they just, well they lurk .

I am open to private discussions though, as I am always looking to exchange ideas with people who aren't just out for themselves.

Does anyone have any figures for how many affiliates never make any money? Or how many never earn enough to get any checks?

I have a couple of merchants that I earn a lot more than an entire network, even when I promote quite a few merchants from that network. It seems as though I have found who I can make money with, and it is time to drop quite a few merchants from my sites.

I have made over $800 this month from about 20 different merchants

    Money wise...

    Commission Junction
    AffiliateFuel
    Websponsors
    Shareasale
    Reporting.net
    Linkshare (almost non existent)

    Up and coming...
    Revenue Pilot fer sure
I got the traffic to make the click commission bring revenue on my non-converting pages. My non converters host promotions that are tough sells anyhow, but get plenty of traffic. Maybe those pages, with the help of revenue pilot, will make some money after all.

I am trying my hand at a non-affiliate links site. I feel that at some point I need to make a move where I dont rely on third parties for revenue so much.

    Ok, Sorry Joey.

Yes, I judged your network before promoting any merchants.

I signed up with much expectation, then when I see the offers I just came to previous conclusion. But, apparently, it's beyond that and good. And it's great, I'll start promoting.

    WebSponsors also have great support.
