    Chicken or Beef?
Yes, my last remaining single cousin is getting married
I grew up with this cousin.

So when I accept the wedding invitation, should I choose chicken or beef for the meal?

This will officially make me the only remaining single person [of my "generation"] in the family
If there are any bachelors out there who would like to change my status, please let me know

    Chicken...
A lady eating chicken is more appealing (to a prospective courter) than beef.

You've seen the movies set in the middle ages where a lady is eating chicken (or perhaps turkey) and pieces fall onto her boosem. I didn't want to go into that much detail, but there you are...

Unless the caterer is truly a top-shelf operation, chances are better that the chicken will taste better than the beef. It seems as though caterers skimp on the quality of the beef, but chicken is usually of one basic quality level - and only complete overcooking or leaving it partly raw can really hurt it. Just my 2-cents, but I worked my way through college doing wedding photography and have been to several dozens of weddings (of course that was in the days of film cameras - but chicken and beef are still chicken and beef, just with more chemicals and additives today, of course. )

But, over-all, as Rolet suggests, YOU should order what YOU really want. Tradition or "what someone thinks" should not be making choices for you.

3 couples were at dinner all trying to outdo each other. The men were trying to impress their wives when one politely said " pass the sugar....sugar". Not to be out done the next guy said, "pass the honey......honey" The third, running out of options only could think of one thing that made sense. "Pass the pork........pig".

Weddings.......the food always sucks so it really doesn't matter. Just hope their is an open bar.

yeap, that's what I was thinking, too. Just drink enough and it won't matter to ya what you're eating.

Agree with the others. You choose whichever one you'd like the best.

Been to quite a few weddings, too and only have ever been a couple where the food was really good. (one was chicken, one was beef) odds are just like Beachy said.....unless the person's really loaded they're not gonna be able to afford the really good tasting beef (like filet mignon or prime rib....yummmm, so chances you'll have good tasting chicken are a whole lot better. lol

or...eeeny, meeny lol pick whichever, move it around a little on the plate and load up on the yummies. lol

Enjoy the wedding and hope ya meet a nice, good lookin guy there

    I'd say definitely chicken.

edit: I've changed my mind beef, yes go with the beef.

edit: Wait! I was right to start with, chicken. Yep chicken.

edit: NO! What was I thinking, beef is the only way to go.

    edit: Is fish an option?

edit: what was the question again?

i say beef cause i always eat chicken at home... thats me though. Do you have any more specifics on how it might be prepared? Also any idea what sides will be available? More importantly, have you considered what sort of beverage your going to have to accompany this meal? Men really notice drink preference if your looking to impress. Let us know.. thanks.

Chicken is always "safer" because you're most likely to get it cooked right (versus degrees of "done-ness" for steak).

Personally, I'd still ask for steak though.
