    Macy's Datafeed
    I just replied to a Macy's email entitled "Reminder: Earn More with Macy's this April!," reminding them that a more up-to-date datafeed would help me do just that. Have to admit that I pleaded a little bit. They are just late in giving affiliates the newest fashions.

    I just received this from our Macys Affiliate Manager (and am posting it here on his request). Hope this answers some of the questions:

    "Dear Affiliate,

    Apologies for any inconveniences. We had to turn off the link
    building functionality because we had affiliates linking to products
    that Macys.com is not contractually allowed to promote through the
    affiliate channel.* In other words, affiliates were promoting
    products (ie Coach) that they weren't allowed to promote.

    Whatever is available in the LinkShare interface is what we're
    allowed to share with you.

    Sorry again for any inconveniences and thank you for being a part of
    our program.

    Yeah, that's what I got to.

    After I responded to that email, He said that the datafeed was updated daily. I just told him I was missing a lot of cute outfits that were displayed on the site.

    At least he is listening. Oh and I thanked him for using popshops!

    This is what I got back from him (and he's definitely listening!)

    1) Macys.com's merchandiser feed is updated daily. It could be that
    PopShops does not have an up to date merchandiser data feed from Macys.com;
    that would explain the discrepancy. I will check with PopShops and
    LinkShare to see what is happening here.

    2) The Macys.com IPL Categorization needs to fixed. I've been working on
    this project for quite a while now and it looks like we'll have better
    categorization along with products in the right categories fixed by the end
    of May.

    3) Thanks for letting me know of all your concerns. I will look into
    fixing everthing you've mentioned; please bear with me for it will take
    some time.


    (I'd pointed out the visible mismatches between what can be found on PopShops vs what is available through the LinkShare individual product links - some of the differences are pretty dramatic.)

    I sense progress is in the works!
