Question on Google page ranking system
As I am new to this field, I have a question concerning Google page ranking system. Your feedback will be very helpful for me to understand the following situation.

Question is, say "X" web directory has page rank 5 and one of the sub directory (ex: travel) has no page rank. If I submit my web url to "travel" subdirectory, how Google will accept my web url back link? As in page rank 5 directory or page rank 0?

    Hello Hotelbooking,

I am not sure if I fully understand the question - however it sounds similar to the one I asked last week - View it here.

    Hello buyjewelry,

    Not exactly, my question is,

Say for example, there is a web directory called "www.examplewebdirectory.com/index.htm" which has a page rank of 5. The same web directory has a sub page called "www.examplewebdirectory.com/travel.htm" which has a page rank of 0. Now if I submit my web url to "www.examplewebdirectory.com/index.htm" google will consider as I have listed in PR5 directory. In case if I submit my web url to "www.examplewebdirectory.com/travel.htm", will google consider it as I have listed in PR0 web directory (because the subpage has PR0)? Or will it consider as I have listed in PR5? Because the main page has PR5.

PageRank is page specific, what counts is the PR of the particular page the link is on. Remember that what's shown on the toolbar isn't necessarily always what the PR actually is, so look at the quality of the site in other respects, too.

It's the PR0 page that'll count for the link, not the PR5 homepage.

Pages pass page rank and are only able to pass the rank it specifically has been assigned.
