    Impress me
My IT person is telling me that the products cannot be categorized through the API on Commission Junction. She is saying that the advertiser is missing the category in the API. I, personally, am technologically challenged in this area. Are we missing something?

    Impress me with your knowledge.

If the merchant doesn't supply categories then the API will not have categories either.

But there are merchants that do provide the category in the API and so I would just need to go with them and reject the others for their lack of information?

no category even though provided by advertiser
Now I see that even if the advertiser deos supply the advertiser category it still deos not come through in the API. This is making it a huge manual workload to categorize products for my site. Also, it is possible to just classify them but also-big work load.

What is the easiest way to get catagorize these products. Can't it be automatic?

I have sent an email to CJ and they did respond that I was correct about the advertiser category not being in the API and that they will try to fix it. I must say that I am very impressed with CJ for responding and giving me some sort of solution even though I have already overcome the obstacle.
