    (name).blogspot.com from India signing up
Any one out there know why everyday for about the last 2 weeks I have been getting at least 7-10 applications a day into our program with the URL's
(persons name).blogspot.com all originating from India.

Every site exist but is essentially blank.
They all have the exact same format, only the name changes.

Since we ship all over the world I accept apps from everywhere and I enjoy working with people's blogs.
But this is getting kind of ridiculous.

I don't want to add India to the block list.
But is this some kind of scam or something going on somewhere that people are buying into?
It's not causing any harm that I know of but still seems like a strange phenomenon.

    Cheers,

    Ian

I think in a nutshell, once those type of sites get accepted, they can put you on who knows what kind of site and they know a lot of merchants auto approve. So you would probably have problems later on.

Do they have similar contact info? Do they have any CJ links on their blogs? When did they join CJ?

they all use (their name) at gmail.com
and they have all joined CJ within 1-2 days of applying to the program.

And none of them have any CJ links on their page.

I have made attempts to contact them and never got a reply.

I wouldn't even think twice about declining them. If they continue to apply, block India. You can always unblock it later.

I've noticed this pattern along with a rash of people using their email address in the website URL field of their CJ profile. I typically reach out to them requesting more information, and if they don't reply within a week or so they get declined.

Do you run a program that pays per lead? I've seen fraud on lead programs in CJ from India... other than the fraud, it's mostly just crap traffic.

Ian has previously disclosed the name of the affiliate program he manages. It's an online bookstore which pays per sale.

it is a per sale as snowman mentioned.
so risk factor is low, becasue we screen for valid purchases, but that being said, we still don't like to open doors for the unknown and if there's any chance there's some type of suspicous actions going on, I like to bring it to attention.

    What I Would Do
I always decline all affiliate from India that are New status. If they really have a targeted site, they'll e-mail me and I'll approve.

I also started getting dozens of these per day. Had to block India... it wasn't just those, it was a lot of other varieties of "garbage" app from India and China. Those are the only 2 countries I have had to globally decline, though Malaysia and Thailand are getting close to that point as well.

I've been getting them for years. The blogspot is just the latest one. I also recieve hundreds from applicants using a generic web url with "@gmail.com" tagged onto the end. Also, any applications that are in all caps are a red flag too.
I suspect these are auto-generated somehow.
I always decline them....but it sure wastes a lot of my time. I don't want to fully block India, as that does not seem fair to the legit indian affiliates...but it seems there are very few legit ones these days.

i'm in the same position, don't want to block India, but looks like I have no choice.
Too bad CJ can't do a better job at screening publisher applications.

And i thought I was the only one wasting my time declining affiliates from India. Some don´t even bother to write how they intend to promote our program. There is definitely a need for some screening and i guess that all this spam from India is not making CJ any faster.
