    I'm a big loser
    Ok, I'm a big loser because 1. I'm so busy and don't have a life anymore and 2. I've lost about 40lbs since x-mas

Hubby left for Wisconsin after the first of the year and I wanted to surprise him when he came back the beginning of April. I figured I'd lose a few lbs. but not that much......lol Yup, he was surprised!

Hey girl! LTNS! Congrats on the weight loss. How'd you do it?

How's your horse? Still full of beans? And how are those goats? Getting any love there or are they still out to get you?

    Thanks Geno and Rhea =]

Well pretty much, with Brad gone I wasn't cooking as big of meals and just stayed so busy with school, basketball and taking care of the house. I stopped taking the inhaled steroid and that helped my appetite. Oh Yeah...and lots of stress (heehee so it's good for something)

Kahlua is great! She just turned two so ready to start training. The trainer I ride with thinks she would do better if I saddle broke her instead of sending her to her. This will be interesting.....lol I started her ground work this weekend not realizing she was in heat. Big Mistake! Luckily no one got hurt and she finally gave in to me being the boss mare. roflmao

The goats are all at the neighbors farm and yes......they still hate me! I lost two of my dogs this winter, one to a heart arrhythmia and one to old age. Sooooo, for valentines day I got a German Shepherd puppy! He's now about 13 weeks old and 35lbs!! He's a tank! We call him Titan and he was born at the ranch I ride at so I know both of his parents and they are both wonderful, working line shepherds. He and the little Italian Greyhound in the house wreck havoc to my furniture but are great to have =]

Are ya'll getting ready for the spring time gardens??

I'm sorry to hear about your doggies. Our older dog is having some problems. To give you an idea of how stressed out I am about it -- I'm actually hoping it's ONLY kidney stones. We'll see how it goes. But congrats on the puppy. That's a big puppy. Does he like horses, too? (We had one dog that was especially fond of one aspect of horses. That was just disgusting. I'm sure you know what I mean.)

Putting in a garden for us would be a huge amount of work and/or very expensive. We are overrun with rabbits and deer so it'd have to be built like Fort Knox to keep them out. But I do have some big planters on the deck and I've started tomatoes, bell peppers and basil in them. We all need to think about planting a Victory Garden, what with the rising cost of food and world hunger.

I think the key to getting along with goats is to treat them like dogs. Show no fear, be respectful, give them lots of treats and petting. At least that's what always worked for me. Oh yeah, and never bend over while your back is turned to them. lol!

I've missed you! Glad you're back. It sounds like you're busy doing mostly healthy things - 40 pounds is a lot of good hard work!

I got a head start on the garden this year - we moved several climate zones south. I have tomatos and basil in pots, the flower boxes are doing well already and I started lettuce and herbs near the kitchen. My next project is for the future - I want to create a nice strawberry area.

Have fun with the training and have a great summer!

Holy moly - 40 lbs! That's great! I do well for about 2 weeks and then usually fall off the healthy eating and exercise wagon. It sounds like you've got a great routine going - congrats!

Thanks everyone! Sorry, I did kind of fall off the face of the earth for awhile Just seemed like everytime I turned around something needed done and pulled me away from my puter.

Sounds like everyone has been super busy too I'm getting ready to plant some onions as soon as I'm sure the frosts are over. Then lots of cucumbers, I spend a lot of summer days making sweet pickles...mmmmmmmmm

Where did you move to jmoore? I'm jealous! After this winter I'm ready to move somewhere warm!!

I think that's why the goats hate me Rhea, I did treat them like dogs and practiced my handling and restraint techniques on them.....roflmao! Oh yeah, and Titan does have that disgusting habit around horses, whats up with that? ewwwwwww

I gotta run this am and get some work done but I'll try to pop on later tonight or in the am cuz I have the coolest thing to tell ya'll about how the friends I made at ABW and the things I have learned earned me lots of brownie points at the vet conference!

ok, totally can't let Joe show me up cuz he's doing so awesome on his diet....soooooo, down 5 more lbs!

My clothes bag and I have this whole cowgirl/ghetto thing going on. But hey, it works! That's at total of 45 lbs in a little less than 5 months

What's my secret? Stress and drama! I wonder if there's a way to bottle and market that?

Seriously though, thanks to the nice weather, I'm outside more.

wow this thread is great for inspiration I love hearing people being successfull at both their job AND health goals - what option do you REALLY want to go with?

I found when I made the transition to the online world my diet needed to change, a lot of sitting still equals less high calorie snacks and more whole foods. But I feel great these days and have fitted in a workout routine that compliments what I do during the day and leaves me with more energy than before!

CowgirlUp - total loss so far 53 lbs
    It's impressive. Congrats.
Two weeks ago after seeing a few pictures, I decided to do something. Nothing drastic, but I have 30 lbs I don't really need.
First week I lost 2 lbs, second one and I'm down 6 lbs. I'm just eating smaller portion and drinking water. It's tough.
