    WTB Profitable Affiliate Site
I'm interested in buying either an affiliate site or even a full-out ecommerce site that is already established and profitable. By way of approximates, I'd be interested in sites already generating *at least* $500/month in profits - preferably higher.

I'd be willing to pay a very fair multiple of earnings/cash flow so I'm not looking for something for nothing.

My interests are pretty wide, but I would not have any interest in stuff that is more adult in nature (dating, gambling, etc.). I'd esp. be interested in a site that is earning money primarily via traditional SEO rather than PPC (PPC is what I do and how I'd attempt to grow the site).

If you can, PM some info. I realize it is tricky to give useful info without revealing your exact site so I'm not exactly sure how to do this. My best idea would be to show me a site similar to yours so that I could at least have an idea of whether I'd be interested in such a niche without you needing to divulge your actual site(s).

If you can't PM yet, leave a message here as to how I can contact you -- i.e. email me at john // at // mysite /dot/ com.

    Thanks!

Give me an idea of what kind of multiple you would be willing to pay?

That's a bit tough to generalize as I'd look at how jazzed I was about the site, the direction of earnings/profitability (i.e. growing, flat, declining), natural 'stickiness' of the site, the amount of daily maintenance I'd need to budget on my end for the site, competitive landscape, etc.

Speaking in rough generalities -- for example, the sitepoint forums are pretty tough re. what people pay for sites -- a 4-12 month multiple is common; whereas in (usually) brokered deals such as those on bizbuysell, the multiples are higher -- usu. 1-2x annual cash flow, sometimes quite a bit higher if the niche required a very complex site build out, wholesale price buy-ins, inlcuded inventory and/or FFE, and the like.

All to say -- depending on a *lot* of variables, I'd look to pay anywhere from 6 months of cash flow to as high as 3 years of cash flow. This said, I'd imagine a 12-24 month multiple as being the primary range in most instances.

Wow, I can't imagine someone selling an asset for that kind of multiple.

I have owned 5 brick and mortar businesses before we decided to focus solely on internet properties. We sold each of those businesses at a multiple between 5 to 10 years cash flow.

We have never sold any of our websites so I don't really have a feel for the market. But if people can buy a year of cash flow for less than the cash flow that would seem to be a steal.
