May 8th, 2008, 02:07 PM #1How to combine csv files
I just found this and it's been really handy.
It seems like I either get massive datafeeds that take special software to open or little ones that take forever to manually review and process. The small datafeeds are typically in the same format and it would save a lot of time to be able to combine and process them as one larger file.
Put all the files you want to combine in one directory
On linux use this command:
cat *.csv > newfile.csv // call newfile.csv whatever you want just not a name that is currently used by one of the smaller files.
On Windows use this commandcan be done locally on WinXP in a command window)
type *.csv > newfile.csv // call newfile.csv whatever you want just not a name that is currently used by one of the smaller files.Someday starts today
