I'm curious. Since I got going last year and hit the SEs at the beginning of November (and held on for the wild ride) I don't really know when the holiday shopping season kicks in. Can someone who knows tell me. Did I catch the rush at the beginning or does it start earlier than November?

    Thanks for the info.

You can arrange your pages now for the Holidays as the SE's need some text fodder for listings.

    RonWLS,

We started preping for Christmas 2004 on 12/26/03... ha.

To answer your question, we start seeing a significant increase in October and it builds from there. Good idea to get your pages ready NOW!!!

Officially the Christmas shopping season starts the friday after Thanksgiving, known as "Black Friday". Thats when you see the pictures on the news of all those people waiting outside department stores, when they should be shopping from my site. A few shopping sites with forums had a little trouble from some big merchants, from people posting info on upcoming Black Friday Sales. Right now sales should be picking up for Halloween stuff, then November picking up for Xmas.

    Hey All,

I was thinking the same about a month ago, and began to work on my very few "shopping" sites. Then I started thinking ....

    Halloween!

I quick got a domain and worked my @%@$@ off and had a site with many pages up in about two weeks.

about a week later I was and still am doing over 1000 visitors daily!

Not too bad, adsense loves this site ;-)

    Hey Mailman,

That is the $60,000 dollar quesiton! Keep your eyes open, always think marketing.

Watch your in box (spam) as the season draws closer. Watch the malls too, next time your shopping keep your eyes open for ideas!

Run the word "toy" at wordtracker every other day from Sept 15 - Nov 1 and try to spot trends or "toy markets".

    Good luck, and good spotting!

I started a couple of months ago because I was late last year.

Merchants should also be making Xmas links available for listing now. Our window of opportunity is very short.
