I have a copy of this, which I have held on to because no one believes me that it's real until I show them.

A dating book my dad passed on to me when I was a kid.
Took me a while to figure out why he kept chuckling.

A picture is worth a thousand words ... or in this case 2.

I saw him make the catch against the Dodgers (on TV) that landed him on the DL - ouch!

Anyway, I've wondered if he's related to the former Giant and Phillie SS Jose Pagan that played in the 60s?

This is a real person's name. Don't click if you're easily offended but it is indeed real. The Smoking Gun also did a story on this person. They eventually legally changed their name and who would do this to a child but -

I cannot post it here, but years ago in my former life, I had a client who was being treated by an OBY-GYN whose name was a very slight variation of the worst, most derogatory word there is for a part of the female anatomy.

Not only did the name amaze me, but the fact that he became a doctor in this field was astounding.

There's been a litany of "unusual" names in college sports, especially basketball. A couple of my favorites from a few years ago were 2 brothers who played basketball, I think both at the U of Virginia: Scientific Mapp and Majestic Mapp. There was also a basketball player who was in the NBA for a short time named God Shammgod.

And who can forget the legal name created by the former Philadelphia 76er, World B. Free (originally Lloyd Free).

Oh yeah! If I had that kids name I would have changed it too! Too funny!

I'm almost embarrassed to admit it but my OB/GYN's name is Dr. Down. It never struck me as odd till this thread. Thanks! Now I gotta change doctors! roflmao

The new Dr. at my Vet's office is named 'Dr Pepper'. And I actually did make it through the appointment without any "I'm a Pepper, you're a pepper" jokes.

That reminds me of the bulletin at a church we attended years ago. Occasionally we would do nothing but sing in Sunday evening services and the bulletin that day stated...

Be sure to come tonight for sinspiration!
