Some of you include real-time ebay auction results on your site. Is there a script for this that ebay provides?

how can this be tied into the affiliate program? This is definitely something I'd like to use, but only if I get some $$$

That auctioncentric place has to be making a killing letting people use their "free" tool. If anyone would like dynamic ebay auction listing just tell me what category or keywords you want and I'll email you the code .

Do you think a lot of people are using auctioncentric's tool? If it works for them maybe I should recruit some webmasters that want dynamic auction listings on their site. I thought I was being lazy by just sitting at my computer making pages all day long, but if I can get other people to do that for me ... I can be even lazier!

Or you could keep all the commissions ...

Ebay have released the "editor kit" - it's a front end that produces javascript code for a CJ link, and you can easily customize it once it's produced a first version for you.

Oh - it works too

Gee. Their whole process looks frighteningly similar to my site! My site has been live for over 6 months! What are my recourses if any?

Hey, that eBay editor kit is pretty cool! I was using some direct category links before, but this is a nice improvement. Please tell me it hasn't been out for 6 months or something! :-)

@ShoreMark - it's brand new. I've had the announcement page bookmarked for a while so I spotted it as soon as it went live. I think this is what was behind the recent CJ/ebay downtime.

@ipohopper - sorry, didn't realise that was your site or I might have been more circumspect about splashing into this thread. If you want to add more value, what about taking it to the next level and doing it without javascript? I'd much prefer it if the results were really in the page for SEs to see. What about a perl script that does the background stuff server-side and could be called via SSI?

Gotta love this!

ipohopper - your system is easier to use than ebay's. Also I hope you don't abandon javascript. I can't get my head around SSI
Is it possible for you to create a script for ebay.co.uk same as the one for ebay.com?

Anyone else do this if ipohopper can't?

I am going to be playing with this all week!

Much of my eBay nickels (and new registrations) come from the flexible link tool, so I have high hopes for this.

What really irks me is that I can't help but wonder if eBay stole my idea. I have proof that Auctioncentric was live for over 6 months providing dynamic auction listings. They are even using the same way to select colors. Does anyone know if I have any legal rights to fight them or is this another case where the small guy gets screwed?

That couldn't have been easier to set up! (eBay's tool)...

ipohopper,
Did you have permission to create yours in the first place? If not, they could probably sue you, or at least make you shut it down...regardless of who had the idea first...

Hi -

Does anyone know if eBay Canada will be launching the Editor's Kit? I can see the potential link within CJ but it says 'Do Not Use'.

Any Canadian affiliates out here?

Cheers,

I have to agree with CrazyGuy. This tool would be very valuable if the results were available for SEs. I would go crazy with a tool like that....

It is still a cool tool...
