    Can Unregistered "Guests" now post??
Was reading the "Where's the ABW Attorney" thread, and the last post sounded like a one-hit wonder poster... and

    Unregistered
    Guest

    the impedus for this forum?

It say's that he has 64 posts since April 23rd.

    We should be more patient.

Remember, he is the impedus, not you
And the post is by an Unregistered guest, with number of posts = n/a

I think haiko allows it in two places
    1) the legal forum
    2) the parasite forum

    I could be wrong tho.

    I think it's a bad idea.

It would be one thing for someone with a piece of valuable information, but no continuing connection to the forum's focus, to come in and post that piece of info as an unregistered guest, and then never come back. It's another thing for someone like the guy referenced in Billy Kay's post to come in and criticize a member for pointing out a clearly visible situation relevant to the forum's members. (If anyone cares, you can see my response to his post here along with his very interesting reply.

I closed that thread for now and messaged Haiko about it. I don't know if it was meant to be setup that way.

I kinda doubt that it's meant to be that way, but just in case, I'm against it

Probably a registered member who didn't realize s/he wasn't logged in when they posted.

Still, I agree that it's probably a bad idea to allow guests to post on the boards. We have enough trouble with spammers.

I mentioned early on that it didn't appear this guy was really interested as indicated by the way he would post and immediately log off and how spotty his appearances were. It made me suspicious of his intentions and I still am.

This is not accurate. His post count was bumped right at the beginning. I assumed it was to make him a "Member" as opposed to a "Newbie". Truth is, his post count is actually 14.

Haiko set it up this way intentionally. I don't remember where the thread was, but I know he mentioned it.

I remember it well. New attorney dude comes in begging for Haiko to check out his credentials, he did, he was legit and was granted immunity. However, I am sure it was with the understanding that he would be an "active" participant. It must stink for Haiko when he tries to help someone out, knowing it could have helped us all out, and then it backfires. Thanks for trying Haiko.....we all know your intentions were in the right place. Who knows, he might come back?
