    REI drops NY Affiliates
Just received a termination notice from a rather large retailer, whom I will name once I discuss it with them. This one would be important to me.

So either not all merchants are watching the developments closely, or they aren't willing to take the risk/do the work in order to maintain NY affiliate relationships.

Regardless of not talking to them yet, and the date of termination not being til 5/29, I just replaced their 300x250 ad on my home page with a nicer ad from their biggest competitor.

    And there it will stay.

Funny, I got dropped by 2 Linkshare merchants yesterday. No reason given. I have sent emails requesting further information but based on past experience one of them will never reply.

Regardless of their reason, both will be replaced with a competitor by days end. That's my top priority now.

I got a mystery termination today, and one last week. It could be due to inactivity (I realized they have no feed after I signed up, so I never put them up), but it could be because they mistakenly think I'm a NY aff. I see this as a possibility, because these merchants had shown no interest until this tax issue came up.

I think I'll put my location into my main aff site's info (in the CJ interface), just in case.

At present, it has been REI's decision to terminate NY affiliates. Gary has been so kind as to reach out on our behalf, but there's only so much a network can do in this instance.
