Question What is the price of gas where you are?
So, our price of gas went up on Thursday. The average around here was about $3.85 per gallon for regular, but by mid afternoon it went up $4.21 per gallon. Diesel is over $5 per gallon. I am in northern lower michigan.

I haven't been into town the last two days because it is a holiday weekend and town in packed, so I am not sure if it went up again or not.

Where are you at and what is the price of gas for you?

Here in the east San Gabriel Valley, 20 miles east of Los Angeles, gas is usually about 10¢-15¢ less per gallon than in LA, and there is one discount station not too far away where its usually about 3-5¢ a gallon cheaper than anywhere else around here. I filled up Thursday morning at $3.93 a gallon, then spent the day in LA and Beverly Hills where gas was around $4.05-$4.10/gallon. Then I saw on Friday, around here it had gone up to about $4.05/gallon, so in LA its probably over $4.20 now.

    This is for regular.

It was 3.89 yesterday, I haven't gone out yet today, but when I do I am on a quarter tank so will need to fill. Hoping it didn't go up over $4 since yesterday

In Chicago we have the dubious honor of the highest gas prices in the country. At most stations I'm seeing around $4.20. I've seen as high as $4.42 and as low as $4.07. I'm sure we'll hit $5.00/gal before Labor Day.

And to think a few years ago I used to commute about 65 miles a day.

Depending on where ya go to get it, ranges from the $3.90's to $4.05

Ooooh rematt, that is really high. My husband's an electrical contractor so has to go where the work is and does a lotta driving, too. Luckily, recently he hasn't been driving quite as far as in the past. Hope it stays that way.

The beauty of being an affiliate is that I've put fewer than 200 miles on my car since the beginning of the year.

Excellent question - I guess some high peformance engines require it

The lowest in my zip code is $3.60/gallon and the highest is $3.75/gallon. Not terrible compared to other areas... I saw a map on a CNN report a little while ago that showed areas reporting $4.10 and higher.

On a related note, Scope mouthwash might be $84.48/gallon when you buy the 1.5oz. size, but nobody needs to buy 20 gallons a week of the stuff in order to get to work and back. I totally get the point of lists like that, but nothing on that list is a necessity in modern society. Gasoline is. That's what makes it so painful for people. On that particular list, there is not one item that I have bought in recent memory, and I can say that a few things, like Diet Snapple, I have never bought in my life. But I bought gasoline two days ago.

1 US gallon = 3.78541178 liters so gas here is $3.68 per gallon. It's 96-98¢ per liter.

How about a Hydrogen car - that makes it's own hydrogen? They're working on it now.
