I believe that y! links are the number of backlinks that yahoo has recorded. Could be wrong. The seobook firefox extension tells you how many y! links a site has.

Yahoo backlinks are backlinks found by Yahoo. What you should keep in mind is that yahoo shows ALL of them - including site wide links and other less quality ones like from duplicate content pages, supplemental pages, doorway pages, feed publishers etc.

A good example, if you were to scope my y links {ithink thats right now i've typed it} I see a dentist or what ever, but when I scope the site I dont see any mention of my company.

So I really don't care about that, I just am confused as to what means & how it works.

Did your first reply basically cover it ?

Maybe they have some hidden links or links says something else. Just check the source and see if there's your domain somewhere showing up. Try to use cached version, maybe it is there but removed in the actual one.

Well, try to go that page and then select on browsers menu:

View -> Source / Page Source

And then do FIND function to find your website URL (very likely it will be masked under "click here") or alike text.
