Ezine articles is the biggie and I'm pretty sure they're 100% legit.

There are others, but I'm not sure which are legit. A general search in any search engine for "ezine articles" should get you plenty.

A link that I have recommended to affiliates who are looking to submit articles:
    http://www.seobook.com/archives/000099.shtml

Towards the bottom of the page is a free Excel sheet that has most of the article submission sites listed and it is easy as pie to just click and save the list for future use. - It has over 70 sites -

That's a good list on SEOBook, Rolet. But Moneycrazed, don't forget to look for those smaller niche publication opportunities. I don't know what you want to write an article about, but many industries have smaller niche publication sites that will get you more relevant links and sometimes more bang for your buck (or more bang for free).

I just submitted one article to Ezine today and would have to wait 7 days or so to have it reviewed.
Does anyone know where I can get a free template to make a newsletter for my web site?

    Thanks in advance.

Start with Ezine Articles first, they are the absolute best and get indexed really fast. Most of my articles are indexed within 10 to 24 hours.

I use Article Marketer and Unique Article Wizard to mass distribute my articles. They both cost $$$, but I think it is well worth it! If you don't want to spend money, just do some manually till you start generating some revenue and then invest in one of those services.

Be very careful hoping for link pop and Google PR love by dropping automated articles into those article hubs.... they will poison your PR and mark you as a spammer. Google maps and alerts inbound links from article hubs and flags them for human reviews & link spamming if most of you inbounds are from robot rewrites & duplicated articles.

What dummy thinks you can fool Google, et all, with old hat SEO tricks like mass article link pops. Manually submit top quality original articles only to the top article hubs... forget the others.

Here is a page that ranks the top article directories according to their PR and Alexa rank:
    http://www.masonworld.com/masonworld...irectory-rank/

That's not all there is to it of course. For example, in certain niches you might get even better results (visitors to your site) by getting your article(s) published on popular sites about those particular topics, even if those sites aren't article directories per se.

Assuming that the article has good and fresh content, how many of these article sites should a newbie submit their article to? I recognize the risk with google calling it spam and realize that some of these article sites will pick up anything just to get their content - so I want to be careful.

As long as you write relevant content, content that can actually potentially help someone out, Google will not mark your article as spam. Just remember to write highly-focused, highly-detailed content and you should be fine.

    I also have a question :)
When one goes about writing articles and submitting them to article directories, what kind of conversion rate can one expect?

See, my problem is this: It seems that article readers are article readers--just that! Are these types of people really even interested in buying what you are selling anyway?

Or, is article writing just another way to build your website and increase traffic to your web pages?

A detailed answer would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Zach

my personal experience, one article in ezinearticles generates 10% of my daily traffic, plus gave a lot of google boost to the relevant article on my website.

Are article readers just article readers?
    Zach,
    In response to your question:
"It seems that article readers are article readers--just that! Are these types of people really even interested in buying what you are selling anyway?

Or, is article writing just another way to build your website and increase traffic to your web pages?"

I would reply that whatever you are selling, hopefully solves someone's problem. If you are selling weight loss products, then thousands of people are looking for answers. The key is to give someone the exact answer (or solution--which could be the product you are selling) to their question right when they need it. So, your article reader is probably there for a reason--seeking an answer to their question. Maybe they have tried all the other systems/products out there and want to find one that REALLY works. Then, how does your product do that? If your product can answer their question, or be their solution, then more than likely you have a decent shot of getting them to visit your website and make a sale.

My top choice is ezinearticles. However, depending on the genre can determine the directory. If you are targeting a market other than IM there are thousands of targeted directories.

Here is a list of my top 10. I have a VA who submits the articles for me and as far as I know they are all still active directories.

    Smile Automatic Article Submission
Looks like everyone here pretty much has it covered. A lot of people use the software program (removed link drop)

My favorite is a website called (removed another link drop) .

In the free version you can submit to 5 different article directories at a time (hence the name articles in a click...) including "GoArticles" which is one of the best out there.

But EzineArticles definitely gets the most traffic and is known for quality by everyone. Here's a list of some others if you're interested. By the way you can submit to all these with the paid version of (2 drop of second link).

    EzineArticles

    GoArticles

    ArticleAlley

    ArticleBiz

    ArticleDashboard

    ArticlesBase

    EasyArticles

    uPublish.info

    AmaZines

    SearchWarp

    ArticleMotron

    ArticleSphere

    ArticleSnatch

    ArticleTrader

    IdeaMarketers

    ArticlesAndAuthors

    ArticleCo

    TSS-Articles

    ArticleCube

    ArticleRampage

    ArticleWareHouse

    UltimateArticleDirectory

    Dime-Co

    Isysi

    ArticleFeeder

    ArticleVista

    ArticleBlotter

    BharatBhasha

    ABCArticleDirectory

    ArticleTrunk

    I hope this helps!

I personally use submityourarticle.com to automatically submit my articles to all of the major (and lots of smaller) article directories.

The cost is somewhere around $30 a month I believe. Not super cheap but worth the cost in my view.

I recently started article marketing and i use Goarticles, ArticleCity, and EzineArticles. GoArticles posted my article pretty quickly and the others you have to wait for a while but I heard going with EzineArticles is good for indexing.

You're on target with marketing and submitting articles, but the key is in reaching your targeted audience. In order to reach my target audience, I've been successful in using articlesubmissionsites.com It has a 400+ submission sites listing that's updated regularly, but best of all, the sites are categorized. This makes it easy to know which publications are accepting articles on my topic.

Since it's a membership site, I learn about about new sites before other people. It's produced valuable results in increasing my exposure within my marketplace. I've also benefited well from the writer's tools that are available there.
