How do I NOT buy through my own cookie?
Not sure I stated that well in the post title.

I'm in EPN, and I have tons of links up via that phpBay Pro plugin for WordPress. Each time I put up new links or a new website, I click a link to make sure it's going through to eBay, everything works right, etc.

Now I want to do a small "Buy It Now" purchase on eBay.

But I don't want to risk the ire of EPN, endanger my affiliate membership, or anything else by making a small purchase, because I'm concerned I've got a cookie set up somewhere clicking on one of my own links. I don't want eBay to think I'm messing with the sytem and buying intentionally through one of my own links.

    Comments? Suggestions?

    Thanks.

Easy... just go to my site and click through my link before you bid/buy.

Duh. Well, I should have thought about an easy solution like that.

Now, with the many friends I have here doing EPN, the question arises, whose site do I REALLY use? I mean, this being a gigantic $10 BIN purchase, think of all the corporate bottom lines at stake out there!

Actually, the PROPER way to do this would be to erase all eBay cookies on your machine. Forcing eBay to pay an undeserved commission to Michael would be considered stealing by a lot of people.

Michael, I expected better of such an industry spokesman.

Clear your cookies before you make a purchase.

Cleared all eBay cookies from my machine, restarted my browser, went to ebay, logged in with my seller/buyer ID, bought the BIN.

I assume this took care of the problem.

Thanks all who responded to my question. I should have thought it through before starting the thread, probably. That's what happens when you rush around and keyboard first then think later. LOL!

I use Firefox and it's easy to clear specific cookies. Sounds like you did that

Well, it DOES show up. I made a small purchase a while back and had forgotten to clear the e cookie. Commission for my purchase showed up in my reports. e doesn't filter your purchases at all.

"That's what happens when you rush around and keyboard first then think later. LOL!"

and..." Michael, I expected better of such an industry spokesman."

think you're the same member that started a thread with a similar remark regarding another member and were definitely in the minority with your thinking on that...definitely not gonna open that up again but .....Michael did have his little smiley guy there, so don't agree with your thinking, not gonna debate it but even if were to agree with you......Michael still did absolutely nothing wrong with his comment cos he had his little smiley guy anyway
