June 5th, 2008, 07:03 PM #1Question on Advanced Links
I see from my merchant's code that the CJ Advanced link can accept variable data (that winds up in the final merchant URL that is produced) via html form code.
Does anyone know if that same link will take data from URL variables and include it in the final merchant URL that gets created?
For example... CJ Advanced link is www gobblegook net / interactive and it will accept data from a form via statements like
That data ends up on the final merchant URL as
What I'm wondering is if I can create a link like
www gobblegook net/interactive?city=atlanta and also get the same result
instead of using a form.
If you're wondering why I don't just try and find out..... I did try, and it generated an error on the merchant's site. The problem is, one of the variables I was trying to pass was url=http://some.address.com and I'm not sure if it blew up because that doesn't work, or because I just didn't create the link properly. Either way, I'm hoping someone knows the answer to this as opposed to me having to perform trial and error with the merchant links. The AM isn't anywhere near technical enough to answer this, but they did give me permission to implement it, if I can figure it out.

For anyone that's interested, it works. You can pass information using ?var=value at the end of the Advanced CJ link
