What is the temperature where you are?
Up in the North East we are having a heat wave. It is 97 (feels like 104)

How do people cope with such high temperatures?

Where I am from, It is only 64

    This is crazy hot today.

It's 94 here. I am hiding indoors with the A/C on and the ceiling fan cranking and the shades drawn and the dogs and I are still cranky from the heat. June is usually nice here, except for the deer flies, of course.

I am in my bedroom/office with all of my animals, 2 cats, 1 dog and 2 ferrets. All the animals are never in the same room together, until today.

It's 72 here, just like it always is. Oh, wait. Are you talking about outside?

Checking... It's 84 outside. Cooler than it has been lately.

And the pool is 82. It's been as high as 86 (which is almost perfect!), but it's dropped a bit with the cooler weather.

Local meteorologist said the heat wave is supposed to break here tomorrow with lows in the 60s and highs in the 80s Yippee! I have yard work to do but I'm not doing it in this heat, although I did a little weeding early this morning. My cucumber plants are wilting from the heat but the peppers and tomatoes are happy -- they're flowering!!!

Are you guys in the city going to get any relief tomorrow? (Howzabout some pix of that Japanese garden, Haiko?)

    Rhea,

Severe Tstorms tonight and possible tornados in parts so the relief should be comming, but then humid again on Fri and Sat.

I might post them when I finish up the garden - it's a lot of work, but fun!

" How do people cope with such high temperatures?"

I complain to myself a lot. lol Yucky, yucky, yucky ......I hate hot weather or guess maybe just real hot and humid weather?

Was supposed to reach 100 today but don't know if it did, think we're supposed to get them nasty thunderstorms, too that'll hopefully cool it off some and it's only June...got a lot more hot days to go til cooler weather. Don't know if it's just a personal problem I have lol ( umm my attitude of just not likin bein hot so maybe psychological) but hot and humid weather just makes me feel like it zaps all the brain power and any energy outa me. Probaby just me, since I don't like bein hot. lol

Only have a small ac in one bedroom and one in dining room window so put the dining one on, uhhh strategically have an oscilating fan standing near the door to basement. Then....another oscialting fan down in the basement and in another direction one on the floor aimed in my direction. lol So...am still melting but not as bad as it would be without the upstairs ac bein on. Internet connection has gotten lost a couple times, tho. Don't even wanna think of what the electrical bill will be.

Neice is a teacher so she's lovin it lol They've been sending school home real early cos it's just tooo hot. New guinea impatients don't like it one bit at all but rest of flowers seem to be lovin it.

" I might post them when I finish up the garden - it's a lot of work, but fun!"

Ooooooh, please do, pretty, pretty please do. Would love to see what it looks like.

When I get too hot....I can go upstairs, just can't get any work done unless I'm down here in the basement where the computer is.

Hope the rest of you guys in hot areas, stay cool

    70 °F / 21 °C - Humidity: 24%

Same as it always is. Clear blue sky, light ocean breeze. It's like this almost 300 days per year here, meaning right here. I'm always just past the edge of the June Gloom.

In the Southern California area we have micro climates. At this same moment, 25 miles inland from me it's 81.4 °F. On the left coast it really depends on how close you are to the water.

Living in a temperate Mediterranean climate can get rough sometimes. There were a couple times last year where I actually had to close the windows, it got so cold. Last summer, I had to run my air conditioner for 10 whole days. It was getting rough for a while there.

    What SeymourButts said.

This weather rots. I'm originally from PA and not used to this crazy oppressive heat. Though, it's hot there too right now...

We have a high of 91 degrees with 82% humidity. Luckily we are having some thunder storms coming through that is cooling it off a little. You walk outside and it literally takes your breath away down here in Florida it is so hot. Good hair days... NEVER!

I'm here in coastal Southern California where the weather is always perfect. Except when it isn't of course. About 75, sunny with a slight breeze. A touch of June gloom.

It's been mid 90's here for a week and a half, but we had a big thunderstorm last night and now it's only 80 with 72% humidity. Like Michael said - it's 72 degrees indoors.

Our daughter in Montana said their forecast is for rain mixed with snow this week.
