    question about the ABW forum...

superCool has looked at the rules and can't find any rule about editing your own posts. superCool edited a post to add a missing detail and while he was editing, someone else posted a message to the same thread. superCool's edit button is now missing from all of his posts. this happened one other time and superCool thinks he might have tripped some type of post-reply edit alarm. ??

is there some type of rule that says you can't edit a post after someone else has added another comment? if so, how does this work?

superCool would not materially change a post he made, but has seen people on other forums do this. does ABW try to prevent this type of thing?

    superCool thanks you

I think it's 10 minutes(?) after your last edit the button goes away. For the reason you mentioned.

I was thinking it was 15 minutes, but it's some short period of time.

Editing your posts is something that should be done as little as possible. If you add much or drastically change it, those who have already read it will miss out. It's usually best to just post a new response with the additional/updated information. If it's significant enough, a moderator may go back and edit the original post for you.

Unless you're me and you have to correct a dozen typos on each message.

The time period may be slightly longer for those who refer to themselves in the third person.

    Haiko.

Can you make mine 2 years ? This benefits the community. Do I need to be a mod for this ?
