Talking I Love My New DealDataBase Cron job!
    Hey!

Don't anyone bash my new script yet!

Just read my (lips) former posts about the DealDataBase issue!

Now that I finally figured out, I no longer care about all the extra that I don't need on that feed, because now I know how to filter it!

I really love my daily cron job emails:

    This is an automated email.

The DealDataBase Table update has completed successfully.

    999 Products on the feed.

    58 Products loaded.

    941 Products not loaded.
This is just like the "George Foreman Grill" commercial!

Set it , and forget it!

I didn't do mine, but I love having it too. One day I may actually learn how to do it myself, but I doubt it. Thanks Snib

Shoppers determine what has value and they like coupons. Stop manipulating who set the cookie just because you do not like coupon and promotional sites.

    Well... not that fast...

Yes, everything works and looks good, but I just noticed that some of my merchants coupons are not included on the DealDataBase that I now get by FTP.

For example, just to name one merchant not included on that deal datafeed:
I see that when I get the deal datafeed the old fashion way, (log on to SAS, download the feed to HD, upload to server.) I can get five coupons from TotallyFurniture, but when I get the DealDataBase feed from FTP, TotallyFurniture is not included on that feed.

But that's ok for now, because nothing can be 100% perfect anyway, and there is always a way around the little details.

I'm just happy that I no longer have to do it the old fashion way everyday, anymore.

    No!

But that's ok, because I now I no longer use that DealDataBase by FTP.

After a many sleepless nights, I learned how to use the xml version of the dealdatabase my way, so now I can list just what I need, as long as the merchants add it, in there.

Are you getting the full dealsdatabase file that contains all merchant deals, even the ones you aren't joined to?

    Yup!

And even tho there are many useless junk included on that file, as long as you filter out all the the junk, and just select your own current merchants only, it's not a big deal.
