I have been doing some web surfing and keep stumbling upon services that claim to submit your affiliate program to several listing services. Are any of these worthwhile? Any recommendations on which ones are good?

If the services are not the way to go, where should I go to manually list. I am new to affiliate marketing and don't have a clue where to start.

    Thanks.

Ever hear of FFA search engine services listing your site in the top 10,000 search engines. same script ...same results. No valid rating service on any of them to let you tell the winners from the losers or the merchnats from the Dupers.

If I understand your question, you're looking for a service to announce your affiliate program to the directories.

If so, here's a link from a VERY reputable source regarding the subject and a recommended service. I've used the service before for a day job and we were very happy with the results.

    Good luck!

    Hi Paul,

You do understand my question correctly.

Are you talking about the affiliate announce service? Did you use the standard or premium?

We just did the basic service. It was fine. Considering the time it takes to do manually - we thought it was worth it.

Here's the only other one we've heard of that comes well recommended by people in the industry.

Either one will do the trick, though.

Don't expect loads of traffic from the directories, though. The best word of mouth is 2 tier and advertising/posting in ABestWeb and IAFMA, etc.

Read the AffiliateManager.net web site, too.

    Good luck!

Thanks again for the very helpful response.
I just searched out the IAFMA and it looks like some good reading as well as affiliatemanager.net.

Looks like I'll be busy for a while.

There are I believe 2-3 affiliate submission services out there and they do what they say they do. However - my experience is that some of those small directories that are ignored from the services can produce good affiliates. Don't underestimate the little guys!

I've put together a fairly extensive list at http://www.affiliatenetwork.org/affi...irectories.htm . If you use a submission service then I suggest you go through this list and submit to those that the service didn't hit. My experience has shown it is worth the effort.

    Thanks Larry.

That is a very impressive list. I think I'll set aside a day and go through them manually.
