While testing NIC Norton Internet Security, i came accross following.
A search on google for "adsales" (without quotes) gives following example screenshots below.
    NIC + adblocking OFF
    NIC + adblocking ON

Note: as far as i know i used the basic ingedients, but not 100% sure, just an out of curiousity post.

Forward that to Google. If anyone has any power in this industry it is Google.

Just did a search of "norton blocking links"

Came up with this very informative how to on gateway support.

this is disturbingHow you can tell norton that a site needs to be blocked

Sounds like it could be dangerous....

Interestingly they are looking to block:

    Occult/New Age

Sites dedicated to occult and New Age topics including but not limited to astrology, crystals, fortune-telling, psychic powers, tarot cards, palm reading, numerology, UFOs, witchcraft, and Satanism.

I can think of a few sites to send in to Norton for blocking:

    Ebates
    WhenU

    etc.

    WHT!!~!=

This is religious discrimination! If they do that, they must block all Christian and other religious sites as well!!!

Where did you get this information? I must advise Witches Voice at once.

If they even try that, trust me, we are big enough, strong enough and have enough lawyers that we WILL kick a$$ big time and I'm not fooling either!

OK, as long as it isn't set as the default and is an option, I don't really have that much of a problem with it. If a person doesn't want to accidentaly end up on an "Occult/New Age" site (gasp) let them block our sites. We don't want them on our sites anyway. It's not as if they would buy our evil merchandise from a witch site contaminated by the "devil" as it is.

I see I would have the option of blocking "their" sites as well. I wouldn't, even if I used Norton, because I need a good laugh from time to time.

My only concern is that I have my "witch" sites crosss linked with my mundane sites. If it blocked the mundane sites because of the links, I would be ticked.

    I may need this tested.

someone better get on the horn to them and right away!

we really need to start boycotting companies like this.

or start sending out some fierce c&d letters pronto! the initial ones dont need to be drafted by an attorney to be legal.

    interesting link here.....
forget the form, look at all the otehr info...

some interesting reasons to send a c&d letter include, defamation and also reverse engineering.
