Okay, call me dense this morning. Fab 11? Why these? Why 11? What's it all about? Did I miss an earlier thread that would clarify this?

Don't know all these folks, but the ones I have worked with or dealt with in some way -- I would agree they're "fab" all right!

Was it just me or did anyone else notice you could only vote on ten? I even clicked "back" to the voting page in the browser and did a recount. Yep, ten. So, who chose the eleventh?

These appear to be the the organizers/founders of a new affiliate-industry trade organization called the "Performance Marketing Alliance."

Think it was total aggregate votes by category Boom. So they could've selected 5, 11, or 40.

Maybe there was a tie. Just speculating.

I for one am a bit relieved to see that the voted FAB members, for the most part, are "Good Guys." I hope this carries over to the final board.

After all of the smoke and mirrors, maybe - just maybe - it will be able to find the right track.

For those who may not have been following the earlier threads....
FAB = Formation Advisory Board, of the Performance Marketing Alliance

I'm pleasantly surprised by the list of names. Let's see what happens next.

Good start. It is a shame Brian and Gary are not the network reps. That would have been ideal.

Don't know all of them, but would say for the most part the board seems to lean toward my ethics and beliefs.

Congrats to them, but now its time to get to work.

There are some names that are NOT on that list that I am most relieved to not see there.

There's a bunch of people on there that I know and have personally met, and I'm impressed with the list (including / especially the "others").

Hopefully, next steps will include what this group intends to stand for, and hopefully this will be something I can sign on to as well.

We'll see!! I wish them luck in their next steps, they will be important ones!

I would like to see the actual numbers published of how many votes each of nominees received. Not for any popularity contest, but just to document publicly what the results were so there is no question as to the voting.

I think it's a very promising start for the PMA! I think the majority of these people (if not all of them) have the best interests of the industry in mind. There are a few that I don't know well enough to have an opinion about yet, but most have a track record of being ethical leaders in the industry. The results are even more positive than I expected, and I think most people thought I was being a delusional optimist (which I probably was).

I agree that both of them would have been good choices. Both were nominated, but both turned down their nominations.

I honestly don't get one choice, but I'll be nice, the Vietnamese Porn market has a long reach...

Will be interesting to see if things like the homepage actually change or if it will continue to be a vanity listing for those friendly to the founders.

Looks like a good strong ethics group to me. Good choices and across a lot of different "cliques" (for lack of a better word).

There are a few people I would have loved to have seen on the list. I think most of them declined the nominations.

All in all, I'm happy with the FAB11. Good luck guys and gals and thank you for the time you have opted to devote to helping our industry.
    Peace,

Excellent group!!! Lots of ABW'ers and others I respect. Affiliates are represented very well with Coley and Jangro, I can't imagine a better duo, and I don't just mean of people who were nominated and accepted, I mean of all affiliates. Other category rocks with Angel, Lisa and Kellie. R Drumm was one I voted for, think he's great. I voted for Brook and Brad too. I don't know PF or AW from boo, but all in all, I think this Fab11 is fab for sure.

Since the Fab11 have planned obsolesence though, I plan to be involved to see how well they take the next step (the PMA altogether, not just the Fab11). Glad to see loads of ethical people occupying this prelim step, bodes well for the PMA's future, in my opinion.

Congrats to all who were elected, you're among our finest and your peers support and respect you.

Coley, Jangro - if there's anything I can personally do to help you in this, you've got my email.

Congrats to the winners! Lots of great nominations were made and it is too bad that some other great ones didn't "win" the vote, but there is good representation here amongst those who made the board, I agree. It is a good start.

Nominees by the founders to the original FAB which was to consist of forty members. Nominees were also given nominating privileges. I believe membership actually climbed to about a hundred.

The acronym is corny, but I wish the group the best, there's only one, maybe two I have doubts about, so the organizing aspect of this group looks positive. If I have to spend the next year reading references to the FAB 11, though, I'm going to , sounds too corny.

Still a little confused on some things, hopefully somebody involved can clear it up.

    From their site:

"The FAB will work closely with the Working Groups in defining the formation of the PMA. Together they will define scope/objectives, governance, membership, operations, and fundraising. More information on the Working Groups, FAB, and upcoming meetings will be found on this blog."

So the FAB was voted on and we can see who they are. What about the Working Groups? Who's in charge of each group. Was there a vote. How does somebody become in charge of a working group. And who has the final say if there needs to be one, the FAB or the Working Groups?
