I rarely open any e-mail unless I am sure what it is.

    Does this look legit?

Subject: FBI - urgent message for the holders of debit cards

I am sure it is real. The FBI routinely tests the validity of debit cards to keep your purchasing power safe. I am sure all you need to do is submit your debit card and pin number and they will check it for you.

Make sure to forward the complete email with headers to the FTC. They really do hunt these people down.

I'm not sure what the actual content is. I haven't opened it and not sure that I want to.

I actually got to be part of a settlemet because of emailing the FTC, got a check - cashed it - it was real.

I now report everything near that one to the FTC.
