Your Favorite Part of AM Site Building
I've recently dusted off and revived my original plan for global domination. Looking at the big picture for site building, the main steps (not necessarily in order, and some can be simultaneous) as I see them are these:

    - niche/topic and keyword research

    - Domain selection and registration

    - Setup host and structure (CMS, site layout, graphics, etc)

    - write or order/purchase content

    - Build out site (content, script, etc.)

    - monetize

    - SEO (on page/site)

    - backlinks

    - track and evaluate

    - tweak and improve

    --------------------------------------------

What's your favorite part of this biz?

    Anything you struggle with?

Any other major building blocks you use or see?

My favorite part is the building stage - putting it all together and making it work. The finished product just gives me that *bling* feeling, ya know?

I struggle with backlinks. Boring, boring, boring.

You better be good at ALL of it if you want to make ANY MONEY AT ALL in this business. It's just so competitive these days. I actally enjoy everything about AM. There's enough variety so that tasks change from day to day. (But I will say chasing merchants and networks for payment isn't a whole lot of fun.)

    Hi

I struggle with what a fish even looks like. I cannot catch what I don't know even exists.

I also struggle with getting very very different answers. So I simply do nothing.

    My site just rots.

For the most part I like the scripting part. Coding graphics etc. Even though I'm not all that great at it, I still like the building process.

I make constant changes to this part. but not much else.

BTW: What is a fish anyway ?

The only part of AM site building I enjoy is building content. (Whatever it is you think my content is -- you're probably wrong.)

I struggle with traffic or lack there of. You can build a great site, but if you don't have/get traffic to it, it's all a complete waste of time.

The commissions I get when I'm done. ("Done" is a relative term.) That's the whole point, right?

    I do enjoy scripting though.

I do everything in order like you do except I work on SEO twice, the first time when I write content and second time I re-tweak later on. I like the design phase where I can let the creative juices flow, at times also with content writing. Enjoy creating graphics too. I too, dislike getting backlinks so often times I let that go and just let the engines find traffic for me. I think if I worked on this more I probably would get more PR and traffic. I also like the fact that I am constantly learning and won't get bored since technology is always changing. One thing I am going to try is ppc....

I just like to create something that's never been done before. It's a great creative outlet.

Honestly, I enjoy the entire creative process, even if some of it does get monotonous or difficult at times. Obviously, there are some parts that are more fun than others, but I don't consider it "work". All of it is so much more fun than my day j*b.

I love doing the graphic design aspect of setting up a site.

I don't like having to figure out how to get constant new content into a site and fighting with inadequate tools that require special import scripts.
