    Back from Belize...
...but don't really wanna be. Diving was spectacular. Went fishing twice and caught 10 barracuda 1 day all of which were at least 36 inches long. Fun to watch em jump as you reel them in. For those who have never tasted barracuda it is one of the tastiest fish out there. Sailed one day. Sat daydreaming with my feet in the sand a lot. Drank a marguarita or 2.

Seriously considering buying a condo there.

    Oh well. Back to work.

    Hope everyone is doing well!

Nice! Belize is on my list of places to visit. One reason we haven't gone yet is because this time of year is their rainy season. Did it rain much while you were there?

WOW! That is one place that is on my list that I would like to see. Do you have any pictures that you can share with us?

    I will post photos soon!

We go to San Pedro in Ambergis Caye around once a year.

It is very unique. Very small rustic fishing village feel, outstanding clear water, the second largest barrier reef in the world.

I'd be happy to provide suggestions for anyone considering going.

As for the rainy season it did in fact rain on us twice but the rain passes quickly and cools the air. I like it this time of year because the water is around 87 degrees Farenheit which is perfect in my opinion for diving without a wetsuit.

    Awesome, got any diving pics?

What kind of cost is the travel to this area, comparatively speaking?

We paid $600 round trip from DFW to Belize city and then you can take Tropic Air to San Pedro for $60 each way which takes 15 minutes or you can take a water taxi for $5 which takes about an hour and a half.

Diving is relatively inexpensive. A two tank dive outside the reef is $75. One dive will be around 100 feet and the second around 60. Visibility is virtually endless.

I can't speak for Belize, but we've been to Jamaica during the "rainy season" and it rained every day. But most days it was only 15 minutes in the afternoon, then it cooled down a bit (like from 95 to 90). One day it rained for 2-3 hours. Not a problem at all. It's not like a rainy day here, where it might rain all day.

Sounds awesome! I'd like to see the photos too. Was diver certified some 30 years ago and never really got to enjoy it, just some snorkeling in Jamaica.
