    Finding associated merchants with shop products
    As a new user, I quickly developed shops and populated them (thinking all I need was an affilitate ID with CJ, SAS, etc.). Ooops! I learned I have to have a relationship with each merchant...

    Now I have to find out what merchant is associated with each product now. Is there any easy way to do this?? I think I'm doing it the most difficult way possible

    Also, if I have many products on a page, it gets too long. If I have 60 products in one shop, is there a way to break them up across 10 pages?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jessie in Seattle,
    There are a couple ways this could be made a tad easier.

    1) Click on the merchants tab in your dashboard. This should list the merchants you've used.

    2) Click on the "pop it in" tab of each shop. On the left is a list of each merchant in your shop.

    That's not as easy as one ID working for all merchants, but maybe it helps just a bit.

    I'm still waiting for this so I don't have to create several shops for one section.

    There's no way to divide products across several pages at this time. I hope we will be able to finish some dashboard changes (clone shops, folders, multi-page shops) in the next few weeks. Right now you would need to create your own navigation and put code in for each one.

    I do suggest not having more than 12-20 products on a single page, however, because of the added weight (page load time). The more images on your page, the slower it will load.

    Also, my personal opinion (fwiw) is that finding ways to create dynamic additional pages (by finessing AutoFeed) is a lower-maintenance proposition than hand picking products for additional pages. Dealing with products becoming inactive, etc, can be a lot of work. This is why we have not focussed on "manual" AutoFeed pages.

    Again, that being said, we are working on something that should "scratch that itch", hopefully. Dev and testing takes a while, but I hope to have this in time for the holidays.

    Pagination?
    WONDERFUL. Thank you, Jessie

    Is this what is called "pagination"? After doing a search on these forums, I saw a feature request called "pagination" in 2006. Here it was:

    "I'm wondering roughly what parameters are used for the pagination and search functions. Obviously the merchants used in that store is the start. After that I'm not sure. Key words used when picking products? Words in product titles? Words in Product description? Does it focus on most repeated words of certain length?"

    What I'd like to do is create a URL that embeds search criteria in it and send people to a results page with products pertaining to that search criteria (ie. price b/w $50-$100 AND for women AND for the occasion of birthdays). Is this related to what you're building? If so, is it in the Enterprise version?

    Thanks for the clarification

    You can already do that (via PHP) in the Enterprise version using Search. Here are instructions:

    Here's an example...note the URL that contains plush and backpack.

    Hope that helps.

    (BTW, the paragraph that you quoted described AutoFeed.)

    ok. I figured it all out with your help, jessie! works great and I highly recommend the easy search box integration as well:

    http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread...ght=search+box

    as for the plush and backpack example, does anyone know what code they used to get the following statement??

    "We found 54 products for Ogio Backpacks"
    and
    "Read More" (instead of the "...")

    Thanks!

    changing product link color
    I really appreciate the plush and backpack look/feel.

    I see they also changed the colors of the product links.

    I'm thinking it will require an enterprise account to do this...anyone know?

    Thanks!

    Add this code inside you <head> tag to change to that link color

    <style type="text/css">
    #PopShop63780 p.pspsText a {color: #f3a201;}
    </style>

    Change #PopShopxxxxx to your shop number
