I am trying to use the SAS deals datafeed and I notice where the field is empty there is a Null Byte showing 90% of the time. You can see it by downloading dealdatabase.txt via ftp and opening the file in Notepad++ or Firefox 3.0.1 It shows up as a little symbol with "NUL" on it in Notepad++ Firefox has a little symbol with "FF" over "FD" on it.
Now it seems like I can ignore it but I have ignored things before and they come back to "byte" me. I know Null Byte Poision is not the problem here but it shows that Null Byte can be a problem. Anyone noticed this in the feed and have some wisdom?

No problems at all. The deal data base works perfect for me.

We don't have to worry now. Michael at SAS just got rid of the little nasty NULL Bytes. I doubt they where a problem but don't like the idea of gunking up my database.
